It’s been over two months since a 7.0 earthquake devastated Haiti, one of the world’s poorest countries, leaving two million homeless and without access to clean water, food, or medical aid. Through the benevolent action of an entire musical community, ongoing fundraiser Dubsteppers for Haiti has been able to provide immediate assistance to those who need it most. As the relief effort on the ground in Haiti goes on, Dubsteppers for Haiti Volume Three is slated for release April 1st 2010 to continue this outstanding work.

Volume Three of this already seminal compilation features twenty five huge tunes donated by all echelons of the Dubstep community. This time, there are some serious names stepping up to contribute to the fundraiser.

Dubsteppers for Haiti Volume Three continues a masterful logistical achievement for online distribution of music, with 100% of the royalties going direct to those who need it most. This has been made possible because retailers Digital Tunes and Juno have agreed to waive all fees in order that the maximum possible amount is raised to help the citizens of Haiti. The Betamorph Recordings website is going to be selling this compilation as well. Volumes One and Two have already raised almost $1500, which amounts to more than $50,000 of aid being provided through extraordinary charity AmeriCares.

The AmeriCares model is unique as for each $100 donated, AmeriCares can deliver more than $3,500 in emergency relief and humanitarian aid, including vital medicines, medical supplies, clothing, blankets and nutritional supplements. AmeriCares works closely with leading pharmaceutical companies and medical manufacturers, as well as corporate and individual donors and health care providers. Their on-the-ground partners include over 2,000 hospitals, clinics and community health programs in every region of the world, as well as international and local nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) and government ministries. They help AmeriCares assess the health priorities in their communities so they can deliver the medicines and supplies they need the most. Since being founded in 1982, AmeriCares has provided more than $9 Billion of aid to 137 countries.

Dubsteppers for Haiti Volume Three adds another dimension to an ongoing fundraiser that the entire Dubstep community can be truly proud of. A release party held for the compilation through Stupid Fly Records raised an additional $100 to be donated through AmeriCares. The positive vibes from everyone involved in the fundraiser’s conception has gained so much momentum that Dubsteppers for Haiti are now looking for an individual or organization to match their total donation, which would result in an exceptional contribution to the relief fund through AmeriCares.

Dubsteppers for Haiti Volume Three is released through Betamorph Recordings, who wish to give a huge thank you to every artist who made this release possible, as well as the entire dubstep community for their continual support of honest music and humanitarian action.

12th Planet

John started over from scratch. After seven years touring the world as drum-n-bass maestro Infiltrata, after winning over icons such as Goldie and Photek, John Dadzie gave himself a new name, a new sound, and a new determination. It was 2005 and the gentile beatmaker was inspired by sounds he heard spun by the likes Technical Itch, Skream and Benga. It was dubstep. And it was his calling. Once 12th Planet is born, the story really begins. The British dubstep movement takes hold in LA thanks to 12th Planet and the events he aligns himself with; Smog, Media Contender, HARD, and his own club night Dubtroit. Like the mythological twelfth planet (popularized by controversial author Zecharia Sitchin), our 12th Planet flies perpendicular to the system. His wicked beats are off axis. His subsonic frequencies surround you in their own orbit. America's first king of dubstep is ready for impact.

Matty G

Matthew Gonsalves better known as Matty G, is without doubt the pioneer of the hip hop influenced sub-genre that ever so present in today's flourishing dubstep scene. Since his first release in 2006 on US based imprint 'Argon', he has gone from strength to strength building on his sample based 90's hip hop sound and having scene defying tracks along the way all from his studio in Santa Cruz, USA. In 2007 came the massive '50,000 Watts' which set the bar for the sub-low 808 sound that many have tried to imitate since and remains a true anthem within the scene to this day. It gained support from the who's who of dubstep royalty including Caspa & Rusko (featuring on their legendary FabricLive compilation), Skream, Digital Mystikz, N-Type & Joe Nice to name a few and also received the remix treatment from dubstep pioneer Loefah, all going towards firmly cementing the track, and Matty G in the history of the sound.

Roommate

Roommate is an animal! His tireless efforts in both production and mixing have currently brought him to the forefront of American dubstep. Consistantly pushing the production envelope with his unique and upfront style, Roommate has successfully realesed a grip of bass booming smashers on well respected labels such as Argon, 10bag & Full Melt as well as his own label Hollow Point Recordings. With 8 years of solid Dj’ing, and tunes that’ll crack your teeth, you can bet that Roommate has secured a title in the future and growth of dubstep music. Expect a HEAVY, dance friendly vibe rooted deeply in the dub fashion with plenty of original material to nice up the dance. Check out Roommate’s other projects Babylon System & OSC.

6blocc

Drum and Bass legend R.A.W reinvents himself as 6BLOCC and is releasing his new sound on labels like Lo Dubs, N2O, Tribe Steppaz UK, Bootshake UK, La Dubstep Nostra and the popular white label War Recordings. In 2008, Portland bass music label, Lo Dubs calls upon the 6BLOCC to rock a mix cd featuring the Lo Dubs roster. A blend of hypnotic textures and warped basslines from the future cut the f*ck up using Cubase SX3, 6blocc says, "I decided to use Cubase to give it a different feel than the usual mix-cd and to add my own samples and edits." The result is ANALOG CLASH, the first CD compilation / mix that features dubstep music from the Americas (north and south) as well as a remix from Vex'd. So far it has sold over 3000 units within months of the release date! When he isn't on the road or in the air flying to various clubs and events throught out the U.S. 6BLOCC is managing his digi-label DIGITAL 6 (available on http://www.digital-tunes.net - http://www.chemical-records.co.uk - http://www.addictech.com) and knocking out dubstep remixes and originals. If you're wondering what the name 6BLOCC means? "I got the name from a Masta Ace song here he says, "the bass I create is heard from six blocks". BOOM!

Lukki

The founder of Shift Recordings in 2007 (one of the most successful Stateside Dubstep labels, in both Digital and Vinyl sales), Lukki can be found in Seattle pushing Dubstep in every way possible. Known for bringing unheard Producers into the limelight (Borgore, Dubtek, SelfSimilar and Flux Pavilion all have their first signings with Shift) as well as bringing the ruckus on the buttons himself. He has releases on Shift Recordings, Rottun Records, Betamorph Recordings, TwentyTwelve Recordings and Kursed Recordings. His tunes have received DJ support from Excision, 12th Planet, 16 Bit, Stenchman, UltraBlack, TrillBass and many other Heavyweights in Live shows and released mixes. Catch him host “Shift Radio” (with cB and Surpass.) every last Saturday on the 1 Dubstep station in the world, http://www.sub.fm.

Much respect as always to those involved in Dubsteppers for Haiti, way to make a serious effort into humanitarian aid. I'm encouraged by the selflessness that has been ongoing throughout the project from everyone.

Great sounds too! :)
