I think this music, electronic or otherwise, just evolves and grows. Everyone loved HipHop when it was new, but now that it's so saturated, and everyone's creativity is getting less and less, people lose interest. I see the same thing happening in Dubstep ( and really all types of music ). When it all starts sounding the same, what do you do?

I have no problem with how i am viewed...i just think it's a shame for dubstep that i guess a lot of amazing producers will end up going elsewhere/not get booked anymore due to the intense demand for crap from the posh student takeover crew..

yeh i got serato, it saves u so much money at uni. TRUST. plus u can get tunes off junodownload.com and they are pretty cheap. and especially good for releases that you only want one side of. Like that 'Warning' tune with the DnB tune on flip.
i still buy vinyl every month or so tho, just to keep my stash up to date and for those absolute bangers you need on wax. plus, serato lets you record your vinyls to mp3/wav and then u dont even need to carry the vinyl you bought!
although i do like to take them with me sometimes jus because it sounds 10x better.

All this bitching, this is juvenile. In case you haven't noticed, the same thing happens with every genre of music. If you were a tech head, the scene has been taken over by fluffy munted homophobe., if you were a metal head, you'll understand that the scene has been raped by the current gen of metalcore/hardcore/deathcore/apple and every other type of fruit core listening homophobe. to the point of almost redefining the scene in the public eye, it sucks, get over it and listen to what you like, even with the inevitable unstoppable change, what's good will always have its own followers and scene, simple as that. Just keep making requests for Burial at every wobble gig you find yourself at until the tool mixing admits he only has Mt Eden Dubstep's life works available. I totally agree, even my friend who I introduced to dubstep the same time I discovered it has jumped onto this gorestep brostep bandwagon... I mean, it seems to me that he went in the direction of "making as much noise as possible" and I went in the direction of "appreciating this amazing ear candy." Kode9 and Mala are gods and Loefah and Coki are close behind. As of now, I actually think were all a little better off than 3 years ago. I mean there really wasn't any variety in the DUBSTEP genre, now Hemlock, Hessle, Hyperdub are all releasing amazing sounds. I'll let my friends stick to the Trillbass Borgore Datsik stuff (And sometimes they make great music)
And I think this whole bandwagon wobble stuff has really been bad, and in my opinion killed Rusko, but it's ok I'll just keep listening to Swamp, Medi, Hemlock and Hessle and hopefully they'll keep working hard.

The night completely flopped, I mean at its peak, around 12:30, there was probably 50 people spread across 2 rooms and outside. Dbridge turned up (eventually) and him and SP smashed it, even though there was barley anyone in the room, respect to them for that. Instra:mental and Distance however didn't show (probably because they were told not to bother) and the night was locked off at about 3 - 3:30.
Now down the road on the same night, Datsik was playing alongside some locals, this night was apparently rammed (and ive seen pics as evidence).
This is symptomatic of what has happened to the sound (especially in Brum) when someone like Datsik can bring in a massive crowd, but Distance, a pioneer in this genre, and a pioneer of the aggy side of things (without distance there is no Datsik imo) brings in 0 people!
It absolutely baffles me, what has happened??? Distance should be bringing in a few hundred people at least just on his own, let alone with Dbridge and Instra:mental playing and the night being part of the club autonomic tour (some of the best and most forward thinking 170 in years).
To me its a matter of timing, it seems the vast majority of people who started listening to dubstep in late 08 - present will be into the circus records type thing, whereas before that threshold, the more sub-low orientated styles are perfered (obviously this is a general case). Birmingham only took off with dubstep around this time period, so its just gone completely down that route to the point where the other side of the spectrum is so under represented and under supported its unbelievable! Nights that even a year ago would get a decent turn out just die now.
I still love 'dubstep' but im increasingly finding it hard to go to a night that I enjoy from start to finish like I used to. Even DMZ 5th birthday was somewhat disappointing (other than DMZ & Loefah and last bit of Pinch and Distance that i caught) I guess its just bad luck that the most popular style of dubstep is a style that i dont like to listen to.
