DANCE RISE EFFECT (help!)

Post by djwc101 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 4:26 am

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where to find or how to make this rise effect used in tons of dance/ trance music.

Occurs from (0:28) to (0:40)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcE2nGE2fIk

Thanks for the help in advance and sorry if this has already been posted!

Your either talking about a maassively long saw risers through a bunch of reverb, makes it sound like a fire whistle...

Or filtered white noise, enveloping to siliene, and flanged...

idk which though 'intro noise' isnt very specific.

Thier both there, just have no idea which one he wanted an explanation of, lol.

Mmm... lil bit of waveshape and subtle phatin might help if it is the fire qhistle one you want dude... maybe some square wave under the saws to, resonant filters, idk, get creative... Nice slow pitch bend to key with a bit of volume automating to bring it in smooth...

Or just go to your local fireyard and sample that shit? lol.

I went into detail on this in another thread called "risers"

set an lfo to a really slow rate (6-12) and send to osc 1 and 2

set it so the lfo is triggered when the key is pushed

set the symmetry to a positive value (127 on my synth)

mess with the oscillator wavs so it doesn't sound generic, maybe layer with filter sweep and noise

easily done

:-D

Theres also sweep/riser samples out there if your willing to look or you could use the sweep mod maker patch in Absynth 5 like I do.

easiest solution: drag out a midi note and automate the pitch up 24 steps over 8 bars. layer in white noise, maybe a hi pass filter sweep.

White noise, add modulation on the frequency and resonance.
Slowly going up untill the part you really want it to rise then give it a huge jump, dont take resonance to more than halfway though.
Also yeah, modulate volume.
Haven't listened just saw sweep, and rise written down but yeah.
possibly some chorus reverb and flange
Also, try a slight amount of delay, works nicely.
Bass is love.
