however, we dont really need hope... any software is what you make of it... if you can take it and make it your own, its gold to you.
however....
Dear Propellerhead:
Reason5 = VST support so everyone will STFU?

propellerhead have said time and again they will never never give reason vst support, which is entirely why they developed rewire

LEAVE MAI DREAMZ ALONE
but, it makes sense now, ReWire was made because nothing can be easy with Reason, its got to be as tedious as humanly possible, and always create another product to squeeze money out of people
i dont want to use VSTs, Reason has everything i need... i just want haters to stfu... thats all

What do people find tedious and difficult with Reason? Its the only program Iv properly used for making music so cant cant really compare to anything else. What are the advantages of VST's? Surely different software synths cant be that different. I have been able to create some great sounds with the Reason synths and FX and whenever Iv used VST synths there hasnt been a noticeable difference in sound quality or being able to create incredible sounds that just cant be done in Reason.

Im 100% with you on that one knell!!!!!!!!!!!! Reason heads unite and rejoice

. People who use reason rewired into there shit are a bunch a hypocrites. All this vst talk. The fukn combinator is the equivalent to vsts. When u put a vst or plug in all it is is someone elses idea that u bought or dloaded ilegally. A patch just like in reason.

Finally...! thank god!
Someone who understood the point of the thread! and you have a great day today, and a great day 2mor"
Well from the top of my head at the moment the peeps i can think of using reason :
The widdler (reason + record)
Some of the prime audio crew, dont know which one's tho... Suspect?
Futures Untold
atm i cant think of any, my head is hurting from too much work, so any one wants to add to my list go ahead, or i'll add the others 2mor.
What you originally asked in your first post was to start a chat bout mastering in reason.
So i think it would be great to start up a mastering masterclasses for reason, with something along the lines of video tut or writen tut. Just like we have Q&A from producer, but this can be for the purposes of mastering solely in reason.I know there quite a few heads out there that just reason solely for everything... so it would be great to get in touch and have a production chat
So thats what I chatted bout

Yea the whole thing about putting everything into labeled combinators has really helped me, cause when it gets to that stage when everythings labeled scream left 1 or reverb 2 u dont have that kinda annoyance with all the combinators lol

yeah I highly recommend all Reason users to put each instrument into labeled combis. I also name any synths Im using purely as a modulation source eg. using a subtracters lfo, so that if I then add automation its track lane will be labeled.

Just trying to understand this process a little better cus my rack setup is diabolical at times as i tend to be quite skittish when i work, and after a while i don't know what i'm looking at any more. I would welcome a tidy rack!
So what are the advantages of sticking each instrument in a combi? Would you include all effects in that combi too?
I love this thread by the way; exactly what i was looking for!

YES!!! First create a combi. Then stuff it with whatever you need. Say a subtractor. Then under subtractor create a scream. Then a a reverb. And all this can be closed up when ur done tweakin it. So the key is to create a combi first. Then create what u need inside the combi. And label everyting.

Nice. Such a simple idea I'd never even considered. Thanks.
I have so many reason queries and ****** I need to work out. Looks like I've come to the right place!
I have to admit I entered reason kicking and screaming. 'Ouch, what the he'll is this shit I thought.' But whoever said the birth process was pretty, especially as I'd only ever really recorded live instruments in audition and nuendo. Never really played around with vsts though besides afew inserted effects. Is record any good?
