Yardcore last Friday

Post by cooper » Thu Feb 01, 2007 11:29 am

First post, hello all...

Anyone on here go to Yardcore last Friday? I rolled in after a job interview and subsequent many hours drinking, suited, booted and messy. Had a great night: Boxcutter was brilliant, whoever was on before him was playing some fucking good jungle, Zan Lyons set was incredible as per usual but I didn't think it was suited to a club.

Vex'd's set was one of the best things i've heard for a long time. last time I caught them was at Glade and I thought it blew that set out of the water. Highlights for me were Tes La Rock Cold Blooded and Angels. Dissapointed that they didn't play Iron Man.

Does anyone know if Cold Blooded is getting a release?

I was up for seeing you play Scuba, but me and my mates got delayed.

I had to wait till 6 for the trains to start running back to Brighton. The gabba that was being played in the late hours was very taxing on the sanity.

Yeah it was a wicked night and thanks to all those who came down and gave it such a good vibe.

Bah! It's a shame about the gabba being too taxing for you but we reckon you need to give it a bit of that a some point in the night, otherwise some people are like too slow... do it the other way around and people are like too fast... so a bit of a balance is what we're trying to acheive and I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Paul's set was the one I caught the most of though as I was rushing around doing other shit. But yeah, you played some wicked tunes man, I hope you enjoyed it. We'd love to get you back again some time in the future.

Until the next one......

Pookie - Not that one, a track from Tes La Rock

Sand Leaper - Nice one for that, although not very promising news. I can't understand why labels would hesistate with that track; it's fucking heavy and original - i haven't heard bass like that before.

Jef - The line up was good mixture. I usually like techno of many types, just not when i've been drinking for 12 hours and been up for 24 hours.

Yeah I was quite surprised as well, I thought labels would be all over this. Hopefully it won't end up as another one of those "lost dubs" like the Crack Bong remix.

yes yes this was a wicked night! loved the selection and the style reminds me of oldskool raves where you have to go from one room to another as the genres change! (did anyone see the glowstick kids having it on stage when original nuttah got dropped haha!)

Boxcutter was brilliant but people aren't ready for that kinda stuff yet!

Vex'd - loving the styles and live/vinyl set up is always booom.

Caught a bit of scuba which was rude too.

Floorclearer - well does exactly what it says on the tin - can't argue with that!

Limewax - rekindled my hope in dark dnb, none of that danceflore 'dark' that i've come to loath just pure technoidhardness

There's some photos on the Yardcore myspace with probly a few of us here on em somewhere (probly looking worse for wear)
