With releases coming out on several labels in early 2010, dubstep fans will be forgiven for thinking that they've slept on Alexis K, the latest and greatest from Wellington, New Zealand.

Her tracks have the poise and polish of somebody who has been in the game for a long time, and she's garnering serious attention and respect on the scene from DJ's and media around the world. But the truth is, this phenomanon has only been producing for a couple of years, with her first EP on Permanent Damage Records, "The Death of Everything Cool," marking the start of a promising future.

A multi-talented instrumentalist, AlexisK got her start playing drums, and later guitar, for several bands in New Zealand. Taking a wealth of musical knowledge and influences into her work, she's breaking all the rules of dubstep and has a sound that is current, unique, and progressive.
