It's all music maaaaaaaan

Seriously tho, this argument comes around after every hardcore continuum genre has been around a while.

Dancefloor v's Intelligence

Personally I like a lot of dumb wobble in a club, cause that's how I dance... a dumb drunken wobble, I don't want to hear Dadstep in a club.

you say "it's all music man" but wobbles should be played in the clubs cause "dadstep" is boring?

congratulations

Didn't say I find it boring, I just prefer it to chill out to in the house or in the headphones.

I like atmosphere at clubs, up here it's the big wobblers that get the crowd going.

This thread now has more pages than the Digital Mystikz album thread.

It's not jumpup or brostep that's harming dubstep, it's PEOPLE GOING ON ABOUT IT.

here lies the rub. some people think atmosphere = jager bombz + chestbumping

some people think atmosphere = gabba

some people think atmosphere = a nice cup of tea + a good book

some people like cavernous bass + meditation

Doesn't really matter. You can't cater for everyones' tastes all the time.

I find most of the 'wobble/comedy/brostep/chainsaw' etc tunes get tired very easily as happened in dnb at the beginning of last decade. they're a bit like hollywood action films + energy drinks in the sense they get overkilled because they try to whack so much energy in from the outset, and therefore leave themselves nowhere to go. So you have to keep cranking the 'wobble/comedy/brostep/chainsaw' up and up and up til it just gets tired and has to go for a lie down. a bit like a small child.

anyway, i digress. enjoy your thing, whatever that might be.

But on that note, I think the ratio of good aggro dubstep around to deep stuff is about the same as what I'd want to hear in any set. Something horrible and heavy is a great release following the deep and dark, but so many 'bangers' back-to-back just doesn't have the same effect.

YES! THIS^.

Definitely prefer sets that have this kinda variety, as therapist said, banger after banger after banger and it just loses all the effect of the 'banger' in the first place, people need to start switchin it up in their sets...

Plus after a while all that midrange hurts my ears :u:

TBF its all music... i like jump up but i would rather listen to medolic and deeper shit.. My older dub playlists is what i go to for inspiration.. And in my eyes artists like loefah, mala, skream, kode9, benga and appleblim are still the best in the business.

Also i think us dubheads should have katie and peter style teams...

I agreed with this until you mentioned Appleblim....yeah hes good and made some tunes like Shreds with Geiom but apart from that what else has he done? Every track Skream and Loefah have done for example catches your attention as soon as the first noise hits you. Obviously the others are dubstep gods too but yeah i do agree that jumpup starts to sound like the devil is raping a goat

Appleblim played a set in my city (Perth) late last year as the international at the club for the night. During his set there was about max 10-15 people on the dancefloor, meanwhile upstairs was the local shock one (dnb), packed out to the max. No fans for appleblim it seems, yet when 16 bit played (few borgore tunes, about 10 rewinds and set wasnt that greate tbh) a few months back there was no room to move, walk or even a casual dance without seemingly rubbing up on someone.......

this new style that is seemingly pissing everyone off (including myself) is what the newer generation of dubstep listeners want, they don't care for the music or the deep heavy vibes that this genre was built around, they care for the "filth" and how wasted they can get...
