Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
I do start to get annoyed with latest front of more mainstream stuff that shrouds the real talent behind it but aslong as i'm still willing to take the time and sift through the crap to find the substance then dubstep will still remain a favourite for me. Artists like Ramadanman, Kontext, Faib, Gyu, Phaeleh, Asusu, even people on here and soundcloud provide a nice sense of optimism for me about the genre.

Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
I can say that dubstep is my favourite genre simply because its the first genre and scene that i have truly immersed myself in so to speak.

Don't really have a favourite genre but I do listen to ska / reggae and dub more than anything else... apart from when I listen to lots of prog-rock, some indie, psychedelic punk, rock, industrial rock, alt-rock and hippy shit.

Yeah, dubstep/garagey/funky type stuff is the music which I feel is the most exciting at the moment.

nah it's not to be honest.
Downtempo and nu-jazz are my favourites. I always will have a love for hip-hop, it was my first and favourite genre other than the aforementioned two, I grew up with that shit... but the way you all feel about dubstep now is the way I've felt about hip hop since 2003. Fuck, since 2000. And I'm not even old. Hip hop is embarrassing.
I usually don't even mention hip-hop as a genre I enjoy whenever I meet someone new. If anything it's the last style of music that I mention. I always will treasure a shitload of classics, but I can't defend hip hop anymore.
Dubstep might have been my favourite genre for like... a year at most.

It is a great forum here, but even I can't say that dubstep is my FAVORITE genre... being a true music lover. But currently, the fresh talent in dubstep/bass music/future garage is really moving me.

What the fuck is dubstep?
I'm here for the RnB.
Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
prefer deep/tech house at the minute, i did dubsteps too dark for me, it's good an all. uk whatdoyoucallit is good, so is garage. anything sophisticated and has a groove is good.

Its the last thing i bring up aswell... people either look at me all confused or go on about the new lil wayne album are somin...
people forget hip hop is actually an extremely intelligent type of music lyrics, flow, beat, sampling...
Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
I dont really have a feel for whole dubstep genre as much as I used to so probably not.
My itunes playlist seems to be consisting of mainly Folk and Hip hop which gives my brain the mixture that really suits itself.
But im always listening to sum ting new whatever it may be, outside of the pop spectrum of course.

Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
Dubstep as a genre nowadays, hmm... But there has been nothing more deeply satisfying to me for over 3 years now than the dubstep Youngsta plays. It is exactly what I need.
So in this respect, calling dubstep my 'favorite' genre would even be a crass understatement.

Re: is dubstep currently your favorite genre?
I've always loved drum and bass after I first heard Evol Intent - Broken Sword, and once I heard my first dubstep tune, I really didn't like it. But after about a year, I really started to like some of the dubstep songs I was hearing. I'm not that into typical wobbles, but more diverse sounds like from Broken Note and Machine Code. ALOT of dubstep is on the verge of sounding childish to me with all of the video game like noises in it. But nonetheless, dubstep IS still currently my favorite genre; closely followed by DnB.
