Good read, although it does read like a Spike Lee novel and has some contradictions about religion and the Nation of Islam. Still, very thought provoking and detailed.

I don't have a card that I can use on the internet :(
Also, supporting local book stores is a good thing.

I don't want to pay over £6 for a book either. I might go to the Library actually 8)

^ the second hand / alternate options are your friend in this case (other sellers often undercut Amazon on their website)

But good on you for wanting to support small businesses

It's basically about how the rise of the quest for individual development, the ideal of authenticity is radically opposed to the capitalist idea of "self interest"

An engaging and enjoyable repost to the age old 'human nature' arguments that are so often parroted by self proclaimed defenders of the status quo.

I've been reading a lot of Andy McNab's writings, just now I'm on "Immediate Action". It's the second of his non-fiction books if I remember rightly. It's pretty vivid.

heh...after not logging on for almost a year it's kinda cool to see this thread still going.

here's what's on my plate right now (been on a bit of a biography kick lately):

Image

Googling for an image of the book cover led me to discover that this is being turned into another Scorsese/DiCaprio film next year. If it were anyone else involved, I'd be skeptical, but those two have been on fire as of late (I try to forget "Gangs of New York", though)
