First time I've done anything like this (style wise as you can probably tell and in terms of postsing a track on a forum). That said brutaly honest feedback would be greatly apreciated. Oh and am I doing something wrong or does soundcloud distort everyone's tracks like this.

Mate you are onto a good vibe here, you have a deep sound, i could see myself listening to this on my way home after a chilled night :) loads going on and the resonance that comes in on the kick hit occasionally is really cool. The vocals are creepy as in the intro!

Hooky - "Jackpot"

props:
+okay, that intro is awesome. not sure how it will fly in the club tho, or at least until its famous
+lovely use of samples/theme
+as soon as i heard the bass come in @0:20/21, i knew i was gonna enjoy this track
+that being said, well done on the bass haha, first time i've heard that one specifically, and you have a good sense of melody
+switchups come as soon as my brain wants them
+never seems crowded, keeps a great swagger/halftime feel
+drop after the break is huge, love the fact that you switched it up and did something different and more brutal
+...with some nods back to the first drop.. .you are a producer at heart!

advice:
-the kick/snare drums at the beginning were probably the only issue i had with this song, just not really a rhythm i feel for an intro.. but your lead ins and breaks are fine, and the drums sound better when the bass drops
-really not too much else advice i can give
-the "split your head open" sample is awesome, but doesnt really fit in with the theme (if that matters at all )
-maybe a break right after the brutal 2nd drop before the nods to the first drop? would really drive the song home

overall:
/gotta say, well done, you're new here, but it seems like you've been producing for awhile, because this is an excellent track. really had to reach to give you any advice at all... this track has all the catchy elements of BroStep, without being annoying and ridiculous like BroStep... which is a tough feat to achieve. Not to mention it is well produced and sounds halfway mastered already! This would go down well in any club or mix here in LA, and really anywhere else i can think of. will definitely be on the lookout for your future tunes

Cheers mate, off the top of your any changes you'd make to improve it, too busy?

Jackpot's cool, the intro's a great idea, could see it opening a set and the changeups are on the money. Dificult to give any more detailed feedback 'coz I'm a bit of a pussy when it comes to my appreciation of the harder stuff.

Hey,

A good vibe from this, you evidently have a good ear for a rhythm as all of the elemnts of your track compliment one another very well to create a really nice fast and free flowing song.

My main gripe would be with the sound selection around the bass, the drums are very weak sounding on the whole so better selection there would add alot, also the higher pitched super-sawey synth is extremely cheesy and not to my taste at all.

Also in the first switch up the slowing down LFO rumbling sound is a bit raped IMO and it would sound better if it were used less often.

On the whole enjoyed it though :)

gotta agree with the previous comments, that is a sweeeeeeet bass sound that I haven't really heard before, really cuts through everything else.

Only thing I could say that I would want to add were it my track would be some cash register, jackpot winning, a la money-pink floyd sounds to pick up the pace at the end in place of hi-hats or anything.

Latest one from me, I am quite proud of the drums in it, been listening to a bit of Kryptic Minds lately and love the big crescendo which their songs are and thought I'd give it a try :)

I love the chilledness of this, makes a nice change from all these wannabee funtcases and datsiks, i agree the drums are good, could be better in places but overall good :)

love the credcendo as well; give the tune a nice atmospheric feel and build suspense

overall good job!

and to anyone whos inerested heres a tune ive been working on over the past couple of days, it could be better in places i know but overall i think it worked quite well :)

Yea man really good track, i could see this going on a soundtrack in a film of epicness! I like how you lay of the bass, it makes it so much more effective when it plays. The syncopation of all the different percussive sounds is really good. Must have take you a while?

I hit up the opening few bars when playing with albino, then cut up the break randomly and it sounded really good with it so I got real lucky. Thanks for the very positive feedback, nothing you would change with it?

well personal preference i would probably put a bit more tail on the snare and boost the kick a bit in the low frequencies to give it more thump and bring them up in the mix to drive the track a little, but i am a sucker for big drums haha. Really like the track though, one day i am actually going to sit down and make a track like this cus it must be rewarding cus there is so much going on!
