Annoying Facebook posts

Post by minifletch » Tue Apr 20, 2010 8:26 pm

Logged into Facebook a bit ago and this is one of the first things I see :u:

(I'm the one that said 'Crap' btw)

I know music tastes are opinions but to quote a joke I read a while ago
Opinions are like orgasms.
Mine's more important and I don't give a fuck if she has one.
So yeah, post annoying shit you see on Facebook... if you want to of course :)

I see colossal amounts of annoying posts everyday.
Recently I saw the most ignorant rant about the conservatives ever haha, I guess thats what you get from living in the countryside.

I just stripped my Failbook account of any and all information about me, only log on to it once a week to check messages. Here's the thing folks-

Facebook is a giant data mining machine that's good at a couple things:

1) re-introducing you to lame people that drifted out of your life in the first place for a reason, and
2) filling your inbox with spam.

Seriously, I once joined a group and within a week started getting all this vaguely related spam like fucking crazy. Just for shits and giggles I joined a few groups that were distinct thematically and not anything I'd join under normal circumstances - same thing happened. Each group contributed to like a 10 - 15% hike in spam. Unfuckingbelievable.

Which makes sense - I doubt they make any serious money off of their [also annoyingly and poorly targeted] sidebar ads.

Remember a little while back when there was the big ruckus over their TOU saying that they owned the rights to use your photos, info, etc. for their marketing purposes? Everyone hit the wall and they backed off on saying that they "owned" our content, but what didn't change was their intent to use your info for whatever purposes they see fit...

...and in this case, the more they know about you, the more they'll sell you out without a second thought.

Skins are for joints. I agree with the original post though, I don't give a fuck who likes Mount Eden. So he's a crap producer and a ripoff merchant, just don't listen to him.

I don't get shitloads of spam like that to be honest. I get loads of messages about dubstep/dnb/house nights from the promoters who put nights on but as that's why I had joined the groups in the first place I don't think it counts as spam

Yeah I see your points (except Coppola, I use that skin  haha)

I don't listen to him and I didn't think anyone I knew did so when I saw it I was like :? lol

I guess the Mt Eden subject has been done to death though, so my baaad :)

The most annoying thing I come across are those groups that make you join to actually see the group, it's like the people who create them grin more and more as the group members count goes up...
Dark angel, fall from the heavens above, send me an angel to heal my heart from being in love... After all of the love for you, in my life, but it wasn’t good enough for you, I can’t take no more tears from my eyes.... But it wasn’t good enough for you, I can't take no more hurt from that time....

yeah and most of them have an external link in them when you join which takes you to a site hosting malware. or those 'apps' which show you who's been viewing your profile etc... all viruses.
