Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
i think its a pretty gd tracklist for a mainstreamy cd, the only problem i've got his how the fuck is doorly so big every one of his shitty remixes are absolutely terrible, i mite not like some of the other stuff but ist bearable compared to doorlys cringeworthy stuff.
Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
Just actually checked this album out. Its not too shabby at all. Like 50% is pretty good quality stuff. But yeah not sure why every other song is a Doorly tune tho.
Artwork, DMZ, N-Type Skream etc are all a big look. This is probably all that is needed to be posted up when a newbie joins and asks for 'some siiiick dub tunes'.

Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
like everyone else has said, its not too bad.
Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
Couldnt of been any better really for a MoS CD. Plenty of rave/tearout heads are gonna get this of course, and you never know some might just hear Anti War Dub or Red or whatever and go out and get more into the deeper side of things. Respect to them for representing the variety of the scene to some extent.

Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
I'm quite pleased with that to be fair...obviously a few bait tracks on there....but for the people it's aimed at it might educate them a bit. Reminissin/Changes/Anti-War Dub etc etc...I say big up MOS for not ignoring the diversity.
Not that I'll be buying it though...

Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
Declaration of interest here: I wrote the sleevenotes on this.
I was wary as hell of getting involved because I saw the potential for it to be an awful hacksaw-to-rusty-metal bodge job of cheap remixes of pop artists... and for sure there's certain tracks on there I don't like personally...
BUT the fact is, it's a massive milestone in the continued expansion of the sound, it's going to expose SO many new people to it, and if those people who might only have ever heard 'Where's My Money' or whatever now get to hear 'Where Is Home' remix, 'Changes', 'Purple City', '10 Tons Heavy', 'Reminissin', 'Blood On My Hands' etc etc etc, and get sleevenotes that actually spell out that dubstep isn't a "new sound" or "slowed down D&B" but has a decade-long history with roots in garage and connections to grime, techno etc, then this can only be a good thing!

Re: Ministry of Sound Dubstep comp
the spread of the sound is what led to the delusion in the first place. i fail to see how this is going to help.
im pretty surprised that dmz let them use anti war dub for a MOS compilation.
forgive me as im not a londoner, but does MOS ever have dubstep parties?
