well... if you're gonna do something, do it right. imo atleast.
Can you point me to something I could read that you have 'done right' that is in the public eye using popular media such as mtv which has loads of views from jo public. I would interested to check it out...
what the fuck does that matter
what the fuck DOES that matter?
adamjames wrote:The fact that this is going to be read by a lot of people necessitates the need for it to be a good piece of journalism that doesn't look like a class project to write about your favourite genre of music.

This is a damaging piece of journalism; it's gonna get read by a a lot of people who are then going to have a warped, misinformed outlook of dubstep.
This.^
there is a lot of breeze written by any author and mistakes are made... so what? it only matters to people that have nothing better to do than criticise... to someone who knows nothing or very little about dubstep and is intrigued by an article they will surely read more and then make their own interpretation of the truth or discover the facts as I did when I got into it through pinch in 2004 and did a load of reading of blogs and articles of a genre of music that I really clicked with. Not all of them consistent but equally interesting.

All I am saying is don't look down on or kick someone who is trying to contribute... it's just not cool!

If I had a BBQ and brought lots of quality meat for people to eat, and then someone turned up with a big shit and put it on my barbie, I'd kick them and look down at them.

Nearly all of the articles promoted on this forum are decent and worth a read. This dude turned up, writing for possibly the biggest 'music' publication type media platform in the world, with the most shit article in the history of dubstep. That's equivalent to putting a turd on my barbie. He went and put dog shit all over Blackdown's nice spicy chicken.

if you knew that probably hundreds of thousands of people would read an article you wrote, would you research it to the end, or would you spend an an hour and click submit? when you have this big of an audience, you have a responsibility.

i think the thing that makes it the worst (incorrectness aside) is that its for MTV which gets such a large viewing audience.

Kudos to the writer of this article, some of its breeze but at least your doing something!

lol

i think yall are giving mtv way too much credit...

do you think they are handing out blog space cause their traffic is huge? lol... my guess is their traffic is getting smaller daily and they are desperate to find a way to attract people...

prolly double the amount of people read this article cause of all the fuss/free publicity

nobody gives a shit what mtv thinks about music, beyond trying to get a few $ so they will license your song for some crap show, and even then the rates are absurdly low considering how big youd think mtv is....

next thing you know, weekly podcasts...

and considering how quick cats are to jump on the scion train, im sure mtv will find plenty of usefull idiots to help them float their sinking ship..

unfortunately, I don't really think MTV is a 'sinking ship'

there are a lot of dumb people out there. in fact, we're quite outnumbered by them.
hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the john..so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz?
