Bad movie really.

but at the same time I can't hate it completely. Just too much work went into it.

Technological milestone and it was really fun the first time I watched (visually and action scene wise, enough to distract you from the wank dialogue),

saw it a second time and fucking hell it was just cheesy stupid cliched crap most of the time. The soundtrack is one of the worst I've ever heard too. Horrible music

I honestly felt i was missing something after watching it in 3D last christmas. Stunning visuals but i just lost interest just over half way through, thought i was the only one lol.

I would like to see the amount of money and time put into to this put into making a genuinely good film. Bit of a waste on this

I though it was great, but purely because of the 3D graphics. I wouldn't have bought the DVD or Blu Ray, which aren't even in 3D. They don't want to release 3D versions until home television 3D technology is better. As far as the movie itself goes, it was OK but yes, nothing that hasn't been done 10 times.

I'm sorry but the fact it's a shite movie doesn't stop it from being incredibly impressive in terms of how it was made and how well done the CGI is. I am in no way a CGI fan. In fact I get pissed of with the constant use of CGI in movies nowadays. But Avatar has really pushed what can be done with it.

It is still a fairly shitty movie though.

Judging by the date of your post, I'm going to assume you didn't see it in the Theatre in IMAX 3D how it was intended to be seen, and how 90% of the populace who're acclaiming it to be such a grand film, saw it. Much like the ONLY other person I know who felt as you did, watched a bootleg version ON HER LAPTOP said it was "just ok". Once I made her see it in the theatre she was blown away. And that's after having saw it at home.

You simply can not get the sheer scope and depth of the film watching it at home. Period.

I think people who want to see a legitimate movie and not a visual circle jerk have his opinion.

Anyone who did any sort of work on the visuals deserves the utmost respect for what they did on that movie because they were just phenomenal. On the same note, fuck everyone jerking off Cameron for it, and fuck the writers for essentially rehashing Fern Gully, and any movie that has tried to make any point about imperialism ever. The dialog was so boring I actually fell asleep, and the main actor was so bad he made me want to puke every time he was on screen. I don't consider a movie to be amazing when it only has 50% of the equation right.

If you bought it expecting a good film, I'd say you're a fool.

I'm excited about it just because it's going to be a visual wank fest. STILL haven't seen it, but I wanna save myself to go see it at the London Imax.
