orite fine, fair play, but wat about the people that 'like' it just because its 'deep' and 'cool'? dont you think that give the music and the rest of us that actually appreciate it a bad name, not that i particularly care what people think but for sake of agruement.

These kind of people, band wagon jumpers, exist in things other than music unfortunately. Just keep to what you like and you will be fine :D:

this is the whole underground / overground angst that's been the hot topic ever since that snoop dogg track hit radio. the door was blown down more than a year ago, and this music is now mainstream, both in the uk and slowly in america as well. i don't mind the MOS getting involved, as its only going to bring more people to the sound, but I totally don't agree with how they a&r'd this compilation. they had the opportunity to draw on a much wider palette than what they did.

I still think that souljazz and tempa have made the best compilations so far; mainly because they didn't make them to sell the sound like hamburgers. they put some real thought into it, and the choices made were good ones.

the amount of people I've seen that have burials untrue, has quite surprised me.. lots of people that don't generally have a interest in dubstep in any other areas..

who knows get the good sounds out there and the people listening could end up being your next fav producers once they have discovered the sound....

in the end we could all benefit :w:

It was funny, I stepped off the train and my friend looked up at the poster and said "zena I bet you'll love that"
I read the tracklist and I was lost for words.. Well not quite, I actually had quite alot to say.
But their a ministry. Were gonna need a fucking army to take them down.

on a serious note...

what people need to realise is that they need to stop tryna keep dubstep so personal and to themselves, its grown past that point and is too large to be controlled by select groups or people. sure it might be a bit painfull to see it pigeonholed and stereotyped but just let it be and let the bandwagoners and noobs have their bait wobbles and commercial stereotype-step. it is what it is, you cant change what the masses want. just support the music you like and keep listenin to it and it will thrive regardless of what else goes on.

No you have different music taste to the average Joe, just because we like dubstep doesnt make it superior to other music.
Music's music at the end of the day be it Coki or Lady Gaga, both have had time, effort and musical knowledge poured into them. Doesnt make either of them less relevant or respectable

ive not heard the compilation but from seeing the tracklisting im not sure how the older tunes fit with the mid rangey wobble stuff. seems like theyve sort of been crowbarred in for a bit of 'education' rather than cos it makes musical sense. sort of like that 'true school' stuff is slung in there at the expense of cohesion.

i dont like talkin bout this stuff but this initial thing kinda pissed me off. not all your mates listen to dubstep, and those who dont arent automatically pricks. just cause they listen to a different type of it it dont make them a prick either so whats wrong with people being exposed to better music. if anything this is great, cause at first it was the poorer side of dubstep that got placed into mainstream, now the better stuff is getting more recognition. alow all this elitism in this forum, its getting like all that faggy art crap where if you dont have a degree in art history you have no say. or something dumb like that
