interesting read although i disagree with loads of it

releases in 2006 were of a far higher quality than 05 - theres loads more of them for a start (on cd at least) and most of them came out roughly on time which is a major rarity in the scene

I can't see how you think logan lost credibility by putting out the war report as a free download - there were loads of excellent tracks on that and before wiley went crazy sending for everyone it was defo one of the highlights of the year. His dub for ghetto and the movement over nightbus is one of the tunes of the year

chroniks cd is mediocre in my opinion - only good tracks are the ones which only briefly feature him and domestic violence is one of the worst things i've ever heard

bashys new cd is excellent though

if you haven't already then check out devlin and all in ones mix cds - both are quality

The 35 page long topic which appeared on RWD entirely during the 2 hour duration of the show on which I played 6 diss dubs would indicate people might have been slightly interested.

You haven't listened to me much over the 5 years I've been playing this music on radio either have you? Find some radio rips of those old Wiley and Doogz clash tracks and see if you recognise the voice.

ok Logan you're right i havent been listening much to you on radio, i'll edit the original post, my gripe with your enthusiasm comes mainly from Faction G's first mixtape - you sound lacklustre throughout and its a real downer on what wouldve been a fantastic mixtape. I never really got the bug with hosting peoples tapes, ok you can introduce people who dont know much about the sound maybe - but surely the music should speak for itself?

As for the beef thing, come on, it became very clear very quickly that sending for everyone was counterproductive, and 35pages on the RWD forum from mainly the same people posting is probably representative of the initial reaction and hype that a radio show can generate, but releasing the war report was hardly a way to take the scene forward and propel it to new audiences, no disrespect intended.

you're right - i forgot about the deadline issue and people's wavering interest

i guess i must just be a sucker for Chronik, i think hes one of the most impressive forces in the scene, really pushing things aurally, and putting some hard graft in

I've gotta tell you, I completely agree with many of the points you made and have expressed the same views on other message boards (namely the idea that grime MCs don't seem to have noticed what made Dizzee's first album so great), however...

The War Report was a great thing for Logan to put out, and certainly let many fans who were finding their scene "looking a little bit scary" to regain some of that enthusiasm and excitement they had for the genre.

Personally, and I'm sure Logan will agree with me, I think that the War Report's appeal had less to do with a WWE appeal, and far more to do with the fact that all these talented MCs competing with each other was simply pushing the levels up when a lot of people felt they were down.

No one can really talk 2 logan to be honest.

He's probably done more than anyone else for grime over the past few years.

Plus he's proven on pirate radio already, not sum1 who just walks into a top DJ spot. Think he done 4 yrs at rinse.

Logan puts in the work and for that he deserves sum respect.
Might see me goin on safe and pally
