continuumdnb wrote:@minstrell- great use of space, the bass is good too, you've got a little bit further to go before you get to the rediculousness of spor/noisia but that's what the stabs reminded me of, that single tone (the obviously flat bit on the soundcloud waveform) works really well too, great idea. I like the vocals, and think they could probably be a little more prominent throughout. Nice job.

@jaspervc- Nice arrangement, great intro, but your main bass has absolutely no power in it, make the mid frequencies of it lower, layer it with something else, i don't care- just make it hit and you'll have a brilliant tune. All the incidentals, variations etc. are great- just make that bass have an impact and you'll have an awesome tune on your hands.

@ ♫♪♫
That 808 bassline is great, and halps move the tune along. Personally i think you've gone a little overboard with the vocal effects. Something to try is putting another track in with the same vocals but no effects, then putting a compressor on the vocals track that has effects on it, which is sidechained to the clean vocal track, this will let you have all those cool effects without losing any ability to hear what the words are actually saying.

If you're giving feedback and are prepared to listen to something a bit different:

Thank you for the reply mate :) The comparisson between us and noisia/spor - WOW, really means a lot! We're hopping there will be a lot more collaborations to come in the future so watch out! :e:

About your first tune - The chilled out guitar intro and those syncopated drums really kick in niceley, the whole mood reminds me of sunday morning in a bar with a live band still packing it's equipment and just playing one last thing for you. I love it!

Cheers

i like this track but it sounds more like an instrumental rather than a tune on its own. also it is very lacking in bass and the snare is also quite weak

k, so uploaded this before but there was loads of problems with drums panning and shit,so sorted it and changed a few things.Hope people are feeling this, feedback appreciated :D
your snares could do with being beefed up a little and reverbed a bit so it fits in more with the rest of your percussion. really like that sample u used and the bass is real nice and smooth.

@mistayif. it is yifan?i do remember meeting u at club autonomic if my memory serves me rite, pretty messy/good nite.anyways thanks for the feedback man, glad u were feeling it.listened to your first track, appreciated the kind of old skool hip hop vibe it gave off, arrangement and build of the tune, overall feel sounds nice, maybe needs of changin so it doesnt overdo the vocal and stab of the track.Though i liked the tune, interlude is really nice aswell, was feelin that tune alot, big ups man.

would quiet like some more feedback on this please people, tanks Juan :D

wow, the vocal sample reminded me of Bar 9, the likes of Shaolin Style etc. Had a feeling from the very start i was gonna love this one and i wasnt wrong. What you've done with the drop and the bass is simply brilliant, lots of love for this track.

Criticism? It just ends, I would have either made it a bit longer and faded out, or devised a dynamic ending of some kind.

Great though, i'm gonna listen again :)

@ reignz
Your percussion (excluding kick+snare) after the drop is too quiet, and when you concentrate on it it doesn't really fit that well, i'd go and dig for some new sounds, write a couple of different patterns and replace it. Other than that there isn't much i'd change, nice work.

@mistayif
If you aren't intending to stick an MC over that then i think you need something interacting with the strings, playing fills in the some of the gaps they leave. Sounds good atm, but way too empty.

could still do with feedback on this:

@continuumdnb: Yeah, nice track, I meant to listen to it yesterday and forgot... the jazzy elements like the sax and guitar are a nice original feature of it and fit well.... the vocals remind me a bit of Massive Attack, and it has a luiquid jazz dnb element to it which is good

@kaori breathe/tripwire: I knew that was going to be good before I even listened to it, great vox and subtle keys, nice track as always from kaori

Soundcloud

Dunno about this one, maybe the vocals are too quiet? Gone for the same vibe of a chilled remix. Feedback will be appreciated and returned.

@Continuum: yeh you were right about the percussion, tried something different ^^ Your track's very relaxed, alot of jazz influences? Really liking it bro

@Jaydot: Jep I think you need to put the vocals abit louder, not too much though, and turn your pad down quite a bit. Drums were fine, bass was a tad too loud aswell imo.

@Goodeh: nice track, but im getting some noise, i think you rendered it abit too loud? Your snare needs work aswell, I didn't really like it , too much white noise :D

After some tips from continuum, made an update to my latest track:
