monitors...

looking for a set of monitors..heard good things about the KRK ROKIT 8 & Yamaha HS80M. Any others around that price-range you'd recommend getting over them? What'd the better of those two? Cheers :)

Better off with rockit 6s and a sub depending on room size and if you have the motivation to save a bit and get a decent sub...

unless you work in a serious studio though you wont need any big size or power out of a sub, jest something pleasant fill in the bottom end...

Rockit 8s lose top end to get that bottom though

i have the first gen krk 8s with the second gen sub. the 8s specs say they are good down to 45hz, but i always had a hard time mixing my bass with them and bought the sub. if you got a bass trap, the 8s alone would probably be fine, but it's still nice to have a sub. if i did it again, i'd probably go with the 6s and sub just to save some loot.

i have krk 5's and they have perfect warm bass in my bedroom...i moved into another room recently and the bass is lacking, i usually produce with my hand on the woofer.

it helps if you can test them in your room as some rooms excentuate the sub freqs from the monitors well enough to not need an added sub.

ye go for rokits imo i love them :D

Yamahas ftw. They have really nice and clean low end. You can totally get away without using a sub but if you grab the sub later.. aceness.
