what are your thoughts on it?
ii found it randomly in my house, picked it up excepting it to be laaame, and it far surpassed my expectations.
almost finished it now, its gonna be interesting to see how it pans out.
The first book really put me off. I could not stand the lead character at all.
thats what drew me to the book!
thought it was gonna be some lame stereotypical hero slays the goblins sorta book but it kinda turned that paradigm on its head.
i find the lead character very interesting, the way he struggles to cope with the world that is thrust upon him.

Does he actually get better at it as the series progresses? If he does then I might give it another go. I just remember that he did something at the end of the first book that disgusted me.

Started reading Kay's copy and got interested enough to get my own :)
Almost finished now. I like the way it's written, I like how the author is playing with a construction of sentences in order to create a specific atmosphere or a certain feeling - it works on me for sure! Good storytelling and a wonderful (and horrible) story too.

no he gets even more infuriating
makes you want to reach through the pages and actually hit him. the character does have his motives for why he acts as he does and imo, theyre justified.

YES!!
They gave me the most foul look when I got there, I tried to open the door and the woman came out..
"its closes at 5:30 okay"
"what time is it now?"
"past 5:30" (probably only 3 minutes)
"okay bye (bytch)"
Pissed...

I felt like going through the back and stealing crates of books. Go home, read them, then sell them on ebay.
I never thought of bringing matches.

I caught it before it shut today, but in the last minute so I went for the lucky dip option and picked like the 5th book I looked at.

Started it, and its as if the main character was written about me.
Weird, or what.. even though Im only on like page 17.

Its really good so far though.

Okay, I meant personality wise.

But that would be pretty neat.
Well, if Avatar didn't rinse it.
