Don't know if this has been posted yet or not but just came across it and found it interesting.. it's a bunch of info on sound design from people behind horror movies, lord of the rings, transformers etc. pretty cool stuff, if you're into crafting strange atmosphere's and textures with your sounds its def worth a read!

Dude enjoys playing his keyboard a bit too much though tbh. He was seriously getting into playing BBQ chicken

For starting out in foley I would recommend getting the Tascam DR-07 feild recorder. Its pretty decent.
