Cue/play on newer CDJs

Didnt really know where else to post this, so dont flame!

Well, to make it short: how do i cue/play on newer CDJs? i have a pair of old CDJs where i can just choose a cue point, click cue -> play if the mix is good (as you propably you know.. )
but on all the newer CDJs, it just starts all over if i press down cue and then play. I know theres a way to do it - so could any one enlighten me?

While holding the platter with your hand (like a record) you move the CDJ to the point you want to cue from. While still holding the platter then press CUE

This sets the cue point to the point in the mix that the platter is being held. The track can't be playing for this to work, otherwise if you push cue while its playing it will just go back to the cue point (obviously)

yeah, i know I'll clarify my question:

When i've made my cue point, i press down the cue button and if i like the mix i'll press the play button (while holding down the cue button), but when i do this, it just starts from the biginning of the track instead of "taking over" the cue button. However, i've only experienced this on newer CDJ's, and not on the old ones i got a home (i think they're from 2004)

Hmm I don't think I understand why you are pressing play while you are holding down the cue button. You don't need to be doing that... Once you set the cue point then you don't have to press cue again except after you push play to go back to the cue point.

Perhaps I don't know how to solve your problem then or I am still misunderstanding...
