Hey guys, sorry for the lack of responses yesterday, had a gig in Antwerp that i completely forgot about

and only just got back in doors after leaving at 11.30 yesterday morning.

Just gonna cook up a munch then i'll answer some questions, keep em coming!

First of all, Im really looking forward for ur album! I always been a fan of ur tunes, both the mellow onces and the filthy ones

Now my question for now is just.. How did u make the bassline in Channel Pressure? Not that u should give away all ur dirty little secrets, but in what way did u get to that kind of sound? It makes me feel so robotic!!

And hey, nice to see a mecha lover in here aswell

First of al big ups for doing this! Feel really bad for missing your show last night since your tune Logical is what got me in to dubstep!

My question is if you would maybe go a little into detail about the bassline in Rumble, this tune is pure genious. Keep dem tunes comming!

Safe for this thread bro, you've posted up a fair ammount of usual information. I love hearing how other producers work, gets my out of the usual way I work.

My question is, what's your main motivation and inspiration to make music? Or your top few things that do so, as I know there are usually a few different factors.

I don't have any questions, just a thank you for the tip you gave me a long time ago about resampling. Still a great way to mess about and find sounds.

Those screenshots of arrangements are frightening! LOL I am too short-attention span to make more than 10 tracks on a tune.

Hey man, big props on this thread, I don't think I've ever read one of these start to finish before but I've gone right though this one. Love the tunes too, every Reso track I've heard has been spot on.

The only question I have really is how you go about adding all your hundreds of incidental noises, what is your processes for adding/finding them, do you have a nice big well sorted library of different sounds or do you find/make each one as you need it? Also do you go on missions just to sample and make loads of little noises for future use? And do you ever reuse the same one twice?

I ask because I always got to a point in a track where I think I need a noise here which goes cerchunkwizping then I have to start looking for one or trying to make it, after a while I'm probably not where near what I want so I settle for something similarish but often way off then after that little 1 second sound is done I need to find the next one and same thing happens lol. I'm trying to build up a decent library but it seems like an endless process in itself.

Your just pure talent man! No one i know has the drops and baselines you have. Even now when I listen to "spooky" i get blown away each time from the about of variation and complexity. I think that song has about 3 different drops... I cant stand really good songs that have huge potential but follow such a formulated structure so once its dropped you know thats it there is no more to this. But when someone listens to your songs its like a roller-coaster ups and downs from start to finish... which is just mind blowing

Only one question, its about them white noises and extra noises you add in. How, why... i think the post above has got a better explanation of it ^^ so you can answer both questions in one.

Love to know anything about what you use to make your sounds and how you do it. If you feel like ranting off on a process you have or a strategy you use, I'd listen and enjoy

And bump on the masterclass video idea. You don't need a magazine to be able to do production videos, you could use it as a promotion tool, stick it on your site/myspace.Same goes for any forum producers who got knowledge but aren't sure how to get people to find out about their tunes. There's loads of people that are interested in dubstep to learn how to produce it. Production videos of any kind, whether they be Masterclasses or just tips on not shitting all over a mix, are a good way of helping out fellow producers and getting peoples' attention.

Heya matey, gotta say of course first of all, you've explosively expanded my musical horizons in the past year or so. Your shit is exactly what I NEEDed to find, so I cant thank you enough. My ears were made to need your tunes, so a million props ;D Im also a big fan of driving around raining heavy ass reso bass on everyone in the area, so that they can know this pants-shitting heaviness as well!!

I probably have a million questions, but I can think of one in particular that Ive been wondering lately (at least its easy):

Q: I noticed when Rumble got released that one of the main REALLY heavy parts that I heard on your Half-Hour Mix (6:06) got replaced with something else, still heavy though I was still left kinda longing for that original. My buddy and I speculated that maybe Vent took it out and you were too much of a gentleman too tell him he destroyed something beautiful. ;] Any chance of that original mix seeing the light of day sometime? OR...*gasp*....is that part getting reincarnated in your album?

Cant wait for that one to drop. You're the best man, keep up the amazing mechanized robot symphonization.

When you started out, what kind of music were you listening to for inspiration? and also what genre did you start making?, because i can hear an eclectic mix of Techno, house, dnb and of course dubstep in your style.

Reso - I fucking love your music man! Changed my view of rhythm completely.
To me, a Reso snare is the best thing my ears can experience! Any tips on making snares just crack like in Toasted or Logical. Those to me are just perfect snares, and I really struggle with that sound. Also, what kind of reverb / settings did you apply for those?

SIR RESO, From the first moment i saw the silhouetted gundam artwork on a youtube video for otacon i knew youd be one of my favorite producers! ive been nerding out on tech/bot themed goods for my entire life, your music has given me so much drive to produce music that i haven't even begun to catch up with myself

From the first listen of otacon i could instantly tell you were a drummer, the hi hat and percussion programming in that track just feels so damn natural! When i read your civil music bio describing you as a "frusterated jazz drummer" i couldnt relate to anything more. i feel like being in a band just holds me back to a degree that im not willing to compromise for. Especially being an energetic drummer, i know you know how it is! I definitely think the most overlooked aspect of producing electronic music is the importance of being able to play and understand any kind of instrument.

i've been posting tons of tear out drum alongs to stuff like venetian snares or the flashbulb on my youtube acct of the same name as this forum acct, and have been getting some really great feedback! I read an interview with you about your future plans, You mentioned something about hoping to perform your music with some on stage drums/percussion. im totally stoked for that; my drive for making music is most fueled by hoping to invade london and hopefully get up on stage or a recording with you with a fat set of drums!

I can really only think of one question, just listening to your music has answered most of them already! Where did you get the snare sound that plays toward the end of your qemists RMX (when the bass kick cuts out)? It sounds like a fragment of a stack of snare sounds used over most of the track but that one piece of the stack just sounds so damn perfect, Its so fat and juicy!
