FurtherSound Presents our monthly installment @ Cafe Lura on Friday, May 14th with another night of filthy Dubstep!

We'll be on the grill, serving FREE FOOD ALL NIGHT, including BBQ Pulled Pork with Homemade BBQ Sauce, Burgers, Brats, Dogs and all the sides as usual. We'll also have an Open Bar from 9-10 PM courtesy of FurtherSound & Cafe Lura!

This month, FurtherSound will be showcasing nothing but headliners from all over the states! Making his FIRST Chicago Appearance since moving to L.A. over 2 years ago - DJ EVOL!

BIOGRAPHY:
Evol has been an established player on the national drum and bass scene for many years, releasing on the highly lauded UK labels True Playaz and Urban Takeover. A respected name in the international electronic music community, this prolific producer also runs his own record label based out of Los Angeles called Monster Musick. Originally from Chicago, Evol has found a home in LA and brings years of experience in bass music from residencies and radio to the West Coast, a fact which is not lost on the dance floors he habitually incinerates. Evol is now a converted dubstepper and lends his thick talent at the decks to the SMOG family’s wide variety of parties and productions.

A longstanding member of SMOG, Evol was featured on the very first release from the crew’s own record label with his smash hit “Sickness,” which was played on heavy rotation by Plastician on RinseFM and subsequently promoted in his mix “Wake Up Call.” Besides being a mainstay on the lineup at SMOG events, Evol also throws a monthly night of afflicted beats at the Los Angeles House of Blues called “House of Dub.” His ambition as a producer and DJ is to make people dance, and with a grimy sense of timing, impeccable mixing skills and choice track selection, it looks like Evol should have no problem achieving his goal.

BIOGRAPHY
Drawing his eclectic influences from across Drum and Bass, Breaks, House and even a little Pink Floyd, Betamorph has given DeeJ the perfect platform to unleash his vision of tomorrow’s noise on both national and global levels. With Betamorph growing exponentially, 2009 has been a year for traveling, marketing the Betamorph name and dropping tunes in Austin, Houston, Louisiana, Chicago, Orlando, and at least several times in Atlanta. Highlights included DeeJ’s opening set for Scuba in May 2009, the honor of opening for DZ’s Chicago show in August, as well as an epic
headlining show for Ghost Industries in September called ESP. So far, in 2010, DeeJ has taken this momentum to a new level playing alongside with DZ, Noah D, Roommate, Ultrablack, SymbL, Total Recall, Metaphase, Hulk and a list of other influential acts. Headlining shows in Miami (WMC), Grand Rapids, Atlanta, New Mexico, Kansas, Jacksonville, Kansas City, St. Louis, Detroit, and an upcoming tour in Los Angeles and San Fransisco and ending with Hawaii.
