Just listening to some of the tunes on youtube. Better than I thought they'd be... still annoyingly cheesy though. 'Encoder' is so gay.

I agree, Pendulum have some of the most unimaginative sounding drums, and drum patterns. No character at all.

And to the guy who said "people gonna hate mainstream no matter what" or words to that effect: we've all heard these tired arguments time and time again, and frankly they're too reductive to be worthwhile. You've just gotta consider whether the music really does suffer as a result of such exposure - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I think Hold Your Colour sucks balls, but this new stuff is like Iron Maiden cheesy. An anoymous producer coulda made this in a shack in East London and I'd still cringe when I heard it.

Pendulum are guilty of having the same drum pattern every song I must say.

But I don't think you can diss the production.

*Waits for silly "Dey Haz No Sub Basses" comment.*

Pendulum got popular waaaa.

I never understand the backlash they got for this album. I mean have you heard 9000 Miles? Nah didn't think so.

But at the end of the day people hate the mainstream as soon as it's mainstream.

Each to their own I guess, ur loss.
I disagree. Granted, I dont know much about DnB, but I liked their stuff before In Silico, which in my opinion, was the equivalent to Coldplay releasing a rap album. Point is, Pendulum should never have stretched beyond making DnB. They weren't a band before and to people who liked the earlier stuff, it was(at least for me) alienating and frustrating. Granted, I saw them back in february and the crowd consisted of entirely candy ravers, which definitely lessened my view of the whole sound because i attracted that type of audience. Twas shit.

BUT N-Type opened for them, which was sick.

here are some d&b tunes that pendulum fans should hear to hopefully get onto better things...not talking my fave d&b like photek/bukem/goldie/omni trio/boymerang etc but tunes that they may actually get into...

Ok agreed, the build up on kingdom is poor, but that bass is just out of this world, and the production generally is clean, tight, and the drums are incredible!

That tune is BIG
