128 is perfect for making tunes for me, never mixed anything before but would be soooo sick to bring a fresh set to my shitty town.

yeah i like takin tracks that are around 135-140 an playin them at 145, also playin SOME uk funky at around 143 is good, works well for breakin shit down, usually if im goin lower than that i skip right down to 85-95 for my hip hop stuff :D

I don't mix, but I've been making tunes at closer to 130 recently. Current one I'm working on is at 124 actually, quite enjoying it.

I like mixing at around 142ish, although most of my own tunes are around 138.

Fucks sake I wish I still had a pair of turntables.

Everyone on here seems to have a pair of technics and a mad studio when I've only got an automatic belt-driven turntable, a broken snare drum and a xylophone.

towards the end of a set I realise both pitch controls are at like +6! I love all music from house, to funky, to grime to dubstep to jungle to drum n bass, but I generally mix grime and dubstep

@ Pistons: when you say you got sections, how exactly do you move between them?? cos i have started buyin housey tunes (eg LEts Talk - instrumental, Falty Dl's thing on Mu) and i wana get more so i can eventually build them into a set but dropping my other tunes to 120 and pitching the house upto 120 dont sound right plus then i cant mix straight into dubstep. how do you bridge?

Usually feels a bit too fast for me, but those are some quality tunes.

Same, but it works well with some tunes. I prefer 130-140, usually right around 138. I find myself slowing down the ones at 145 or so.

What is there not to see?

I dj anything around dubstep tempo and even double time so I sly in some cheeky ones.

But with production 125-135 bpm I can't get over.

I just meant isn't it weird to create music sounding right at 130, knowing you'll bump it up up 15 bpm when you actually play it out?
