Tbh I find a lot of dubstep to my kinda trippy. I mean it may not be psychedelic like Black Moth Super Rainbow or anything but its in the nature of dubstep to be trippy.

i think ZOMBY is my favourite of this sort of dubstep. but pretty much anything on Planet Mu or Hyperdub is a safe bet though.

other faves... Ikonika, Darkstar, Joker, Gemmy, Hyetal, Quarta330, Ginz, Raffertie, Starkey, Jamie Vex'd, Kuedo.

But in my opinion Kode9 & Spaceape's Dubstep Allstars vol.3 is the manifesto for this sort of trip. that album still has me staring into space everytime i hear it

Loads of good 'uns, especially James Blake and Boxcutter - no one's mentioned Tapes so far. It's not dubstep as such but his stuff definately has that slightly trippy (in a retro game kind of way) sci-fi feel to it IMO.

Kryptic Minds is some of the most futurist, dystopian music to yet hit my ears. It's definitely of the times, lodged squarely in the collective consciousness - moody, twisted, lonely.

Your really need to search for the trippy / psychedelic dubstep, its out there, in the world somewhere but usually its not being produced by people who are in the dubstep "scene". One place where I have found some seriously tripped out shit (not just dubstep) is the Secret Archives of the Vatican podcast, here:
http://vincemillett.libsyn.com/

IOT Records from France seem to be releasing some proper wierdness (e.g. Mongol in Dub Steppe by Loan - brilliant just for the name of the track), Fleck from Greece, Liquid Stranger and DJ Knowone from the USA are all worth checking out and so are the Secret Archives of the Vatican, themselves, for some dubstep influenced psychedelic dub and they come from Croydon!

Check out the Secret Archives of the Vatican podcast (they're up to number 24), if you want trippy music you'll find plenty there.

I've tried producing it before and plan to make some more in the future. I've made a soundcloud group just for this type of dubstep

Not too many contributors - but like people have been saying it's hard to find a whole lot of.

One of my new faves in this vein is Out of the Hills by Vex'd:

A classic fave of mine is The Messenger by the Sub Division, kind of almost psy-trancey. I can't find a YouTube of it.

I've also always been a big fan of the "dub" part of dubstep, the sonic trails and general spaceyness.
