never heard the man...but I'm sure it was him my mate was on about that supported the Mars Volta of all people....wasn't there myself...but according to my mate with very sound musical judgement...destroyed the place....best be checking him out..
easy all,
you can hear two tracks from Goth Trad's recent LP on the link below, which have a distinct dubstep/breakstep flavour to them... well id say a distinct london flavour but were made in Tokyo.
http://www.radioblogclub.com/search/0/goth_trad
The tracks are inside the radio blog i run on my site. In case it bugs, try this direct link - the above link opens a pop up radio so need pop up okayed, the below link opens the radio in a page
http://www.spinscience.org.uk/radio.blog
the tracks are labelled 02 and 05 in the radio but they're actually called 'Back to Chill' and 'Smokin Water' - some heavy duty bass going on. quality isnt optimal tho sorry the encoding for the radio blog brings it all down. EDIT - slight mistake. track 2 is Back to Chill, but track 05 is actually one of the 'jungle' sounding ones not the 'Smoking Water' track. sorry. still peep numero dos
Goth Trad's site is www.gothtrad.com and his label is www.pop-group.net - they're releasing a 12" soon from the LP and 'Smokin Water' made it in a top 10 or something on Tokyo radio.
the rest of the LP has acid sounding tracks, jungly bits, garagy bits, it's all quite varied and diverse tbh.
and yeah he opened for Mars Volta before too.
Thanks to SRK (sup ryo!
) for hooking me up with the LP.
