New Silkie choons at interesting tempos...HOPSTEP???

Post by harrymacd » Sun May 30, 2010 5:40 pm

Alright people,

On friday night i had the pleasure of witnessing Silkie play at stealth in Nottingham- At the end of his set he got on the mic and announced that he would play 3 new tunes that he'd made which were at totally different tempos. They were seriously interesting pieces of music--- it was much slower than dubstep and had more of a hip hop feel, having said that- they were laden with sub and bass. I'd describe them as kinda bassy soundscapes...

DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THESE SONGS??? I'D BE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO FIND OUT MORE...

Heard a beat on antisocial a while back, it was completely wonky. Cool, but not very easy to dance to I suppose. Would have guessed it would be roughly 80bpm or so.

Been lookin for some info on that silkie tune since I heard him or quest drop that at subdub last tune of the night.. must be over a year now! Anyone know if this is gettin a release or got any audio links without the vocals (they ruin it for me totally killin my vibes of the original sample/tune)

re: "hopstep" - i hate it when people do this, like they hear a dubstep tune thats got some metal influence in it and call it "metalstep".. or hiphop influenced dubstep and call it "hopstep" and all that bullshit... what about "DUBSTEP"?! :?

Hopstep, god that sounds gay. As it has been said most of Anti Social have been making non 140 tracks for a while.
Also what is up with people calling other people Noobs, it makes you sound like a tnuc. The word Noob is just as bad as Hopstep also.
