OK, i'm angry right now. Within 2 hours of music going up for sale it's fileshared and torrented across the World.
I'm assuming there's a bigger picture here, for the most part the sites hosting this audio have no affiliation with music whatsoever and are simply driving traffic to their sites to make more money through advertising.
Then there's what I'm assuming are just kids with OCD who are constantly uploading and making music avaliable to download.......this guy for example: 'd4m4g3r' - I'd love to meet this guy and have a 'nice chat' with him.
If anyone know's the identity of this guy let me know

I would post links to reference his insane library of illegal uploads but then I fear I'd be helping him out....though I'm not quite sure what he actually gains from doing this anyway....?

your fighting a losing battle though
music will always be shared
when the real value of an mp3 is nothing, what can you do
just hope that fans of music want to pay for the music they love

Who are they? That's a good question. They claim to be people who want to provide good music to people. I understand them, in most parts of the world they don't sell any dubstep music of any kind (no vinyl, cd's, etc...) or they don't have a visa card / paypal to pay for OVERPRICED tunes. Also most of the kids don't even have enough money to buy a big catalogue of music. I understand their opinion. And that's the reason why I pirate. I love dubstep music, fits me perfectly, I buy vinyl and occasionaly WEB releases and I admit that I have shared on one of the biggest online dubstep communities (No, no names). But most of these are rather underground and do not really pose a big danger to sales. As the previous poster already has mentioned, nobody will ever succeed in removing all online-file sharing. You just need to find a balance between buying music the proper way (vinyl, cd, beatport, ...) and downloading some if you want. I'll give you one? what to do with the Digital Mystikz releases? Most of them are only on vinyl. Now you are a person who doesn't collects vinyl or is a dj. As there is no way to obtain these tunes, how do you get them if you really want them? That's the same with most of the vinyl releases. Furthermore without filesharing dubstep would have probably ended up somewhere in the garbage bin of London city and that's the truth.
P.S. I've been in contact with this person you've mentioned. He's a great guy, and he knows what he's doing. I have nothing against him, and he doesn't earn a penny from it. Furthermore VBR quality is not great for playing out, most of these are VBR-quality.

i think people upload music because people want to share it around, not because of personal gain or any issues with OCD
good luck having a chat to every single filesharer out there

this has been gone over again and again and again
in before seckle tells you you dont have the right to demand the format your music is produced on...
Personally i dont steal tunes and instead spend all my money on vinyl and juno

I've always wondered this too--esp industry people / engineers who "leak" albums right before they're to be released... Or the flim-editing studios that do the trailers for movies and have access to the whole film, uploading it before it comes out. WHY?
I just don't get the point. Why would you do that? What do you get out of it? Why run home and get on the internet and upload something you stole from work? I just don't get it.

Hi, i am the person you have quoted above,
I do this because i can, warz rules imho.
Though i would like to wish you luck in your crusade to stop people sharing music, I dont know who you are(and i dont care either). I will probably post your music again also, my thoughts will be with you!
Take care

The only music i download illegally is tunes that i already have on vinyl. If i am paying £5.99 everytime for two songs then i think it is fair that i have a copy on my computer too!
Your never gonna beat piracy so there isn't really much point in stressing over it.

dont you hate the shit quality sometimes and go and buy the tunes legally though?
i think they should give the mp3 away for convenience myself if youre gonna buy the wax

You can't fight against p2p. Unless you upload files with the same name, just different content, such as rick roll to try and drown out the originals.
If blogs etc post it, just send a polite notice to the person who owns the blog, or if they pay for hosting, then to the abuse department for that blog and it should be swiftly taken down.
The best thing to do is leave it up for download for a week so it builds up a good index in google and then act. That way when people google 6 weeks later they will find a blog or something linking to rapidshare links that have been deleted instead of the real file
Then there are other illegal methods you can use to protect your music.

Its a sticky issue but its not that different to lending someone a new CD for them to put on the computer or whatever... just on a bigger scale! I think mp3 should be given away with 12" sales as this might help; if you had a good anti piracy way of doing it - Juno voucher or something. A lot of companies do it as well as other little extras in with the vinyl releases, dubstep is sparse... a couple of tracks and maybe some album artwork for £8. Needs to get a bit more professional now its much much bigger. Holding onto your roots is all good but you also have to move with the times or people will get pissed off...

Yeah sometimes i can't get the songs so do buy them but the Torrent site i use is invite only and all the downloads are 320's.
Yeah i think they should give you a free MP3 download code with the vinyl. Would probably eliminate a bit of piracy.

They're not 320's! the return to space one is an awfull silent youtube rip.
Livin' Different is a high quality rip from the red bull music acaemy & unexpected is a good myspace rip.

No i'm not, I have nothing to hide... I just don't have the funds to buy everything i like. I'm just a student who buys vinyl and downloads some 320's from time to time.

Yeah there definately not 320's.
There is a lot of people that pass unreleased tunes around which i think is cuntish, fair enough sending them to people you trust (friends etc.) but uploading them or passing them to strangers is cuntish. If a producer is sending you there tune then they are trusting you to not send it about or upload it. I have downloaded the unreleased tunes i have come across as i obviously want them but i don't advertise that i have them so don't pass them on again or upload them myself.
And its not like i wouldn't buy the vinyl of the tune if/when it actually came out as i only play vinyl so i would have to.

Oh right. Well you can put a song that is like 96kbps into Audacity then just export it as a 320kbps and it makes the file a lot bigger so could be mistake for a true 320.
