question for all of ye..
question for all of ye..
ive been into dubstep for a while now and have been interested in buying some stuff to dj with.
ive been looking at turntables as well as a mixer that uses traktor 3.
im not really planning to dj at big events, maybe a home party here and there.
i would rather uses vinyl, however its so expensive for me being 16 and in america.
i buy my tunes legally online, so the question is..
what do you guys recommend i get?

The favorite seems to be Technics, but I don't know much about DJing to be honest (although I've really been wanting to get into it)

Re: question for all of ye..
technics are rock solid and very reliable so that's why most people go with them, I don't know about the states but in the UK you can pick a pair up for about £400 most of the time. Bargain
Re: question for all of ye..
Technics sl 1200 , Vestax pdx 2000 and I hear Stanton STR8150 are pretty good, for mixers Allen & Heath, Rane, Urei, Pioneer, Vestax are the way to go.

If you want the best of the best and have the money then go for the stuff mentioned above, but I used shite belt drive decks for about 3 years because I couldnt afford anything else. Not about what equipment you have, its about what you do with it

also just stay away from anything made by behringer like the plague. i swear they make their products out of paper and custard

^^ this man has probably lived with a behringer mixer too. mine melted into custard and even then it was lumpystormtrace wrote:also just stay away from anything made by behringer like the plague. i swear they make their products out of paper and custard
decks- anything direct drive would help. numark tt 1660's arent too bad to start with. but technics are tooooooo expensive now. so 1210's for the decks
Mixer: Pioneers & Allen & Heath are immense but expensive. The numark dmx06 u can get off ebay for about £50 (think thats about 90 dollars) and that will have you sorted.
