Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
Could any one make a reccomendation for any of the usb mixers in the below £100 range? (im just getting it to play around).
Been looking at these three;
http://www.thomann.de/ie/hercules_dj_control_mp3_e2.htm
http://www.thomann.de/ie/korg_nanokontrol_black.htm
http://www.thomann.de/ie/novation_nocturn.htm
Also, sould I be looking for firewire or USB? I'm a pc user but my laptop has both firewire and usb ports.
Thanks!

Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
These are all midi controllers, they don't do anything with your audio.
Some more info about your setup would be helpful. If you just need a midi controller, I think that nocturn would get you the closest to the feel of an actual mixer.

Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
imo shouldn't start thinking about controllers until you've got a feel for DJing and I wouldn't bother with low-end midi mixers you might as well go for a slightly more up market Hercules controller like this http://www.decks.co.uk/products/Hercules/Steeljyro wrote:Could any one make a reccomendation for any of the usb mixers in the below £100 range? but if you're dead set on a cheap controller I'd reccomend this
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/1 ... oller.html similar layout to a real mixer with plenty of sliders (volume and pitch) and enough knobs to use it for FX too plus it's pretty useful for production too
How does I wobbled bass?

I wish someone would be an arsehole to nowayssj, like he is to everyone else. Someone just rinse digital for not being 'proper' djing. I don't see it that way but he deserves it.

When have I ever been an asshole to someone?Assassin wrote:I wish someone would be an arsehole to nowayssj, like he is to everyone else.
Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
Thanks a lot to everyone who's been posting useful info. I've been looking to get into DJing myself too, for fun, and also to aid me in writing more "DJable" songs.
Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
Only a joke breda. Just how you're all anti digital and anti Internet promo and generally give people grief for using new things(especially the young people aggro) but then ask for dj midi controllers seems a bit, I dunno, hypocritical.nowaysj wrote:When have I ever been an asshole to someone?Assassin wrote:I wish someone would be an arsehole to nowayssj, like he is to everyone else.
But whatever man, no beef. I'd had a shit day and what not.
No grief to the digi djs either, you do what you do. It's all about tracklistings and shit. I prefer vinyl just because I like playing the feel of cueing it etc. No shit with digi/vinyl like I said.

Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
That thing looks awesome, if you could get this for 100-150$$$ that would be perfect to try your hand at mixing and what not. From what I'm reading from people that went to musikmesse, these things are put together like shit. That doesn't sound good.
Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
Yo, anyone have any updates to the midi dj controllers, I know there have been some major developments with torq and traktor, but haven't really been watching anymore...

Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
the new traktor thing looks awesome. I don't do midi controlled djing (aside from with my midi keyboard at home when I'm too lazy to walk to my decks), but i definitely would not mind playing a few sets on it.
Re: DJ Midi Controllers THE LIST
Yea I have been really considering the s4... It comes with a pretty good built-in soundcard and it's own version of traktor, but I can't help but also look at the Allen & Heath Xone:DX... or the Denons... I just wish I could buy all of them
