I hate myself for scrutinising this article but this is really getting on my tits.
From the 'article':
*Buzzin’ Fly* main man Ben Watt made some tweets about the Fabric drama earlier today, only to be asked by the club’s management to remove the comments. Now we’re really worried. Read Watt’s new message below.
“i have been asked to remove my comments here, and on twitter [sic], earlier today about fabric’s alleged fall into administration. i have no wish to upset anyone. the truth will emerge in due course. in the meantime i can only sympathise with those at the sharp end of this story. best, ben. [sic]”
I'm sorry how did the writer of this article come to the conclusion that the club's management requested that he remove any content from his Twitter?
Is this really journalism that people take seriously?
Me too, was thinking about going to Matter for my birthday in July, now that is off the cards was thinking Fabric, hope I won't have to find a third option.
I doubt Fabric will close though, I am sure they have alot of backing financially from independent investors - it wasn't matter that has made them lose money, its probably just the change in audience, much more younger people are going and I guess at times they just cannot afford £20 or so for a night...
FUTURE DUB SHOW on SUB.FM every Thursday 12pm - 2pm
no bothered about fabric nightclub, i fucking hate the place.
If their is any truth in this though I feel for for the owner/s, always a heavy heavy time going bankrupt, hope they can keep afloat just for that sake.
does this affect the label side too? cause i've been trying to email my usual contacts with them and they all seem to be on leave or no longer with the company.
I got an email from Fabric a wee bit ago, which said:
'As you may have heard, it’s with a very heavy heart that we’ve had to announce that matter will definitely remain closed throughout summer.
But try to keep your heads clear of the other dirty rumours polluting the Twittersphere – hear us now, in bold print and all: fabric will very much remain open as normal, business as usual.'

Yep, first night is the 11th of this month.
Don't know what to make of these rumours to be honest, even if Fabric are insisting it's business as usual, there's no smoke without fire. Also, apparently bookings were being made for Matter days before it's closure. So it's a tough call. I for one pray that it remains open, Matter I can deal with but if Fabric goes I'll genuinely be gutted.
