SNH World Cup Hype

Post by magma » Thu Jun 03, 2010 1:06 pm

8 Days! Who else gets properly geeky during the World Cup month?

No, England aren't going to win... but we'll all get drunk and enjoy it until someone gets stabbed outside the pub anyway.

North Korea just made me chuckle: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010 ... per-gamble

I reckon Spain might win. I swear England get worse every year.

Should be good whatever happens though.

Lol at the North Korea goalkeeper situation.

Brazil for me...Spains midfield have been ridden with injury of late...but it'll be between those two.

Argentina always struggle to find a balance in their squad. They'll do well if they can free Messi up to do his damage, if not...Quarters.

Germany will perform well as always...not even a World class squad, but they're Germany. They have the mentality to carry them through.

The best we can hope for is Quarters I think. Maybe Semis if we get very lucky.

I'm going to be severely tired for a month. Most games kick off at about 1:30 am here :o :o
I may well get sacked. I'm prepared for the dissapointment and inevitable deppression as a result of England once again going out on penalties. Probably against Germany.
I'd like to see Ivory Coast go all the way. That would make for a great final.
Can't wait :h: :h: :h:

I'm kind of pulling for Brazil to get knocked out in the groups... they're so fucking boring at the moment... although maybe I'd prefer to see them or Ivory Coast somehow dump Portugal out.

I gave up being worried about Germany in 2001.. just as long as we don't draw fucking Portugal in a knockout round again... if I see Christiano Ronaldo grinning at an England loss one more time I'm flying to Iberia and killing his entire family.

Isiit? Maybe...But my 9-5 kind of gets in the way of me enjoying my life during the day, so I'll have to see which ones I can make it over there for!

Either way...Football everyday...what's not to like!? :D

I AM SO EXCITED ITS UNREAL!

All the favourates have problems though, it makes for a interesting cup definatly;

Brazil's central midfeild is pretty shocking, and if Fabiano doesn't fire they look pretty screwed. Spain don't have a settled back 4 either and Casilas has had a bad season. Argentina, no balance and maybe the one of the most un-predictable managers in history.

This makes me lean more towards Holland, now Spain have won a major tornement maybe they can. :o England tbf actually do have a decent chance, obviously there are quite a few better teams, but this is the best team we have taken in ages and the best manager too. We definatly CAN win, best chance in a long time; I beleive!!

Looking forward to it this year. One time I get into football.

Last world cup we set up another tv next to my mate's tv so we could play tekken during half time. Set up some decks behind the sofa so people could have a quiet mix while watching. Drank a shitload too.
