IMO I think it's where you separate the line from being a club tune and a tune that could be played on the radio. IMO I think it should sound the best it possibly can be on as many sound systems as possible, and not be exclusive to people with teh massive systems.

Most wickedly produced music sounds good everywhere, that's the point basically.

PS, sorry I said I was being a dick not you!
Thanks for the feedback btw, hadn't noticed, I do love those kind of basses you were talking about been meaning to play with something like that for a while. Will check your tune tomorrow when I'm home (and not on a laptop ).

@Bad Lux; Not keen on rhianna tbh, you have some nice wobbles going on tho man. everyones remixing rhianna tunes these days

@Siderealdb; nice tune, heavy stuff lol its like hard tech-dubstep, nice.

@♫♪♫; both tracks very ambient, liking the vibes!

haha @mouldy soul! interesting, i wouldn't usually ever listen to anything on lappy speakers but i do see your point.

Got another one fresh to check out, finnished the mixdown whilst gettin baked last night :P

@♫♪♫ - love the riddim in less than three. the shuffling of the percussion sets this track off. id work on the distortion after the break tho it doesnt sound good imo

@siderealdb - pretty decent tune, theres too much going on tho. trim down some parts and give it some space. the main wobble patch could use something to make it more interesting sounds kinda dull.

@Bad Lux - really jammin on this one. the vox work well. id add some more of the bassline variations in there i like the ones you got tho. left a comment on the soundcloud

Soundcloud I think I need to do a little bit of leveling & a little bit of tweaking but other than that I'm happy with the outcome

Thought I'd see how this thread was for getting some feedback, just went through the thread and heard some wicked tunes. Just gonna comment on the last few tunes tho, as I'd be here all day otherwise, ha!

@baan - feeling the chilled vibes of this track man, bass has some real warmth to it and the higher lead parts and piano sounds sit really well in the mix.

@DjPsychonaut - feeling the chill winston tune dude, its got a really nice vibe to it. Not to sure on the snare myself, just think thats a preference tho as it seems to sit nice in the mix

@Siderealdb - liking this tune, I agree with dankface tho, I think there's a bit too much going on and think it could do with some breathing space, may also help give some more impact to the synths, as they won't be fighting everything for space

@@Bad Lux - feeling this man, didn't think I would as I'm really not into rhianna, ha. Production sounds tight tho man, some nice bass wobbles going on.

Here's one of my tracks

Felt like I don't crit the stuff here enough. I'm usually hideously busy and don't get the chance, but I have time tonight so I thought I'd drop by and listen to some tunes.

@skaven: quality tune man, really sick, nice pads, great work on that bass, so well written, love those little gaps where you're waiting for a hit from the bass and you just don't get it - totally makes the tune imo, really nice to hear a well made wobble too that isn't just typical of what I hear all the time. Very, very well arranged. Can't compliment your work here enough. Not a single thing to criticize imo. Love the variation too, you knew exactly when to vary things and mix it up. Nice job all round. (Do I hear a speak and spell breaking in and out? Or is that my imagination? :S)

@baan: very nice piano (?) work (sounds like a piano kind of synth not sure what it is, but it's very well written) the little carrying lead lines in the background are very good too, very subtle and understated, very chilled, nice mid section too.

@djpsychonaut: I was not expecting to hear two ch00ns in a row with wobbles and actually like both of them tonight, thank you for that. Very nice atmospheres going on with the pads, nice bass sounds. Cool tune again.

@♫♪♫: great work on those tunes, both of them are very enjoyable. First one has lovely chord choices in the piano, a little dissonant but still very nice.

@tripwire: wow that's such a tune, who did you do this with? Kaiori? Breathe? Wow you two sound great together :P :P :P

Great tunes all round tonight :)

Thanks to all who checked it. I'm fixing everything right now, and i have a pretty good idea as to what it will take to make you like it. Personally though, i don't think you can ever have too much. I would rather be confused by what i hear as opposed to knowing what i will hear. I do have a solution for my tune though, so please give me a few days and I'll have something ready.

Peace,
Sid

not my style per se imperial but i like the charecteristics of your sounds like those really saturated screetches and intro arp
really cool drum styles too. nice production... yep this is the sound of an alien invasion
Really cool transitions in the mix too (although the levels could have been a lil more even in places)

Likin track 2 Collision Course im on headphones so only a brief hint of sub so i cant give a fully objective critique but from what i can hear its got a really nice minimal smooth vibe to it. coooooooooooooooool

Really cool positive vibes here Sirius perfect soundscape for these deep lyrics. Captures the mood perfectly

Phat one there impey cool b line, nice fills, fx and phat drums...

BTW im on headphones so not gettin the full vibe

Feedback please guys, thanks.

@ skaven-heavy tune, drums are really, nice, that snares a beaut, bass is great too, only crit would be of the drum roll before the drop, think it kinda takes away from the drop maybe, sounds really good tho

internets being fuckin slow and useless, shall leave more feedback this evening and to anyone who comments/listens,when i hope it should be a bit better....

this is minimalist dnb type thing ive finished, still think it may need sum more work but wouldnt mind some feedback on it,quite atmospheric anyways..

@redjuan Really liking the ambient feel throughout, just feels like it needs to go somewhere a bit more. When the bass comes in it sounds good, but feels like it would have been better a bit sooner, so perhaps try bringing it forward? This would leave the rest of the track open to go somewhere else with it, maybe adding vocals or some sort of lead melody to add interest, but keep the same feel. The mix sounds fine overall but maybe bring the bass up a bit, to give more of a sense of progression. Cool sound though.

@alexwright Cool intro, I like the off-beat snare, adds interest along with the 'sucking' type of effect, how did you get it to sound like that? I quite like the speech samples too, different to the usual random film quote sample before a drop. I like the change about halfway through with the lead synth melody and how it continues on through the next section. Mix sounds pretty solid, only thing I dont really like is the way kick drum sounds, almost sounds too midsy to me. Good track overall, maybe could have done with a few more ideas over the 7 minutes, just to keep the interest up.

@baaan Another ambient track, starts nicely, I like the chord progression, doesnt go where you expect it. The drums I really like, cool delay effect thing with the snare in bar 1, then the claps in bar 3 and 4. The synth melody itself I quite like, however I dont think the sound particuarly fits, perhaps try a more precussive sound? Like where it goes in the final section, with the extra synth part, compliments the main melody nicely, and gives a sense of progression. Not sure about the random sound at the end, seems a bit pointless. The mix sounds nice throughout, everything sits nicely in the mix. Good stuff.

This is the first dubstep song ive written, its a remix of my A level music tech composition. I really liked the way the vocals sounded on the original track, and I had a couple of ideas for a dubstep song already down, I put them together and I'm fairly happy with how everything sounds. Have a listen.
