Spine tinglers & Inspirational tunes thread

Post by futures_untold » Wed Jun 09, 2010 12:06 am

Post tracks that make your spine tingle each time you hear them (or tracks that uplift and inspire you). The more universal the appeal to all ages and music tastes, the better! 8)

-------------------------

Vangalis - Chariots of Fire

Olive - You're Not Alone

Youssou N'Dour & Neneh Cherry - 7 Seconds

Edwin Hawkins Singers - Oh Happy Day

Origin Unknown - Valley of Shadows

Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World

Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy

Europe - The Final Count Down

Ps, fuck that midrange cack brostep wackness. Sometimes I think dubstep is so weak and lame.

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)

Any Hendrix, for that matter.

If we're talking dubstep, then I've got to go with the following

Coki - Goblin

Mala - Eyez

Digital Mystikz - Anti War Dub

And many mooore. But I find that it's those especially.

TC Ft. Jakes is a spine tingler???? :(

Tbh, that's exactly the kind of cack that inspired this thread...! ;) (imo, each to their own etc etc)

Perhaps the real test of a spine tingler is how many people find which songs grab their soul each time they listen? (Including your mum and dad & family etc)

For me, a spine tingler is appreciated by as many people as possible, if not universally, at least within a scene.

John Lennon - Imagine:

Haunted is a good call for the dubstep side of things though. 8)

Something that touches your deepest emotions and makes your hairs stand on end. It could be good or bad, but in the case of music, it's usually a good thing.

All the tunes posted above give the poster the goosebumps when they listen to the tracks they posted.

Something like 'Imagine' by John Lennon is almost universally liked, precisely because it touches a part of the public psyche that so few other songs manage.

I reackon a couple of the songs in the original post are liked by most people of all ages (although doubtfully Valley of Shadows hehe).

Dubstep for me hasn't yet produced a true universal spine tingler imo, although a couple of tracks are meaningful to most dubstep fans.

An example of what's not a spine tingler would be Mr Blobby. Although popular, it doesn't have a universal appeal.

Imo etc etc.

Most hardcore fans would probably consider 'Shooting Star' by Bang! as a spine tingler (although most other people wouldn't hehe) ;)

Hell yeah, DJ Shadow and DJ Krush are amazing. Love that shit.

I like some liquid DnB sometimes, gets my spine tinglin' espcecially when there are other variables involved.

And I liked this one a lot until I found the above one:

This seems like it is relevant to this conversation. I am not sure how.

That's right, tripple post!

:wwf:

Futures, just been going over your original tracks up there.

I could go for the rest of my life and happily not hear any of the songs you mentioned.
