is it just me or do all the americans like him and all the brits hate him?

a lot of these tracks that are being put up are not what i'd call hip hop either!

There's loads of British people in this thread giving Timbo the props he deserves. Including Plastician on page 2.

Of course Timbo didn't "create" dubstep, no one "created" dubstep, but he was a big influence on the early dark garage/grime producers and dubstep would probably have evolved differently with no Timbo influence. Today people like Joker and Guido would sound totally different without Tim's influence.

It's not even that controversial to say.

If you're pretty young though and have only ever seen Timbaland as some gurning steroid pumped goon singing with Katy Perry then I can understand why you might not like him much. I actually like some recent Timbo stuff as well though because pop music is quite fun and you don't have to spend your entire life being "underground" and pissed off at what normal people like. It's quite liberating.

yup. he says he LIKES DUBSTEP!!!!!!!!!! THATS THE HEADLINE!

fucking internet music journalism in 2010, utter waste bullshit. (THE WRITER USES COS. COS? wtf. cause. who is writing that crap? thats some fucking bootleg ass english shit to do. lol... srsly, am i to believe timbaland is putting on a london street dialect? or that everything the writer hears just sounds like that, even a southern us twang? lol)

such a asshole headline to put. fucking fix up rwd.

dude says that his people in the UK always tell him he started dubstep, which im sure quite a few people tell him... he says its that style he calls dub bass , and that people are rocking it and adding bass in their own ways, doing their own dances and that HE LIKES IT..

hes a beat maker, not a genre tnuc, fuck off with your "dubstep" drama, what Timbaland said in that article makes perfect sense and shows a general understanding & appreciation for the music... which is actually a BETTER attitude than hes had in the past...
"It’s funny cos they went back to some of my old music that really created that sound and just, instead of going fast, they went slow with more bass. To me, I like it but they call it dubstep."

if thats not him saying he created the dubstep sound, i'll fuck myself with a broken bottle

How the hell can he say he created it?! He's just a fat homophobe.. He contributed nothing to it. He makes bad commercial and this dates back even to his magoo stuff.

First of all, i wanna see and hear him say that he invented dubstep. How can you be so sure he did say the exact words that were written on that article from this site (which i don't know but maybe is not an important site and also not known for being pertinent.

Then this

His ego certainly seems to have gone way beyond the bounds of his influence. I wouldn't have thought Horsepower/El-B etc were referencing Timbaland when they started laying down those first gritty tunes way back when....

Q: Who does this guy THINK he is, again?

I'm not a fan. Especially not of Americans taking British concepts and palming them off as their own.

Outside of possibly neptunes an dre he's probably the most in demand beat maker in the world. PERIOD.

That's probably who he thinks he is.

I don't think anyone agrees with the notion of Timbaland having much directly to do with dubstep, but lets not act like he's a nobody. Dude is easily one of the most influential producers of the past 20 years.
Exactly.

And extraordinaire and gigantic lol to the guy who said Timbaland killed hip hop. Nobody can kill hip hop. And i hope you wanted to say "rap music" because if you didn't you're no one to speak about hip hop. And still no one killed hip hop nor rap music.

Stop getting your hip-hop off top 40 radio and you'll figure out fairly quickly hip-hop is alive and well.

I'm English. Timbaland's made some awesome music. He's got a massive ego and thinks he invented everything. This is not exactly unheard of. He was probably just a bit tipsy and showing off to a girl.

sometimes i wonder if people think before they post...we all know timbaland didnnt create dubstep....but him sayin he did doesnt help all the people who u follow or listen 2 in dubstep...eny1 who has contributed or is a dedicated fan of the sound has the right to be angry at what he said full stop.

Its not a matter of us believing him or not because we know the TRUTH, but to other new comers etc its a major confusion especially if u come from a hip hop dominated back ground and i mean commercial side of it. even the article is proof of wot i say...if the interviewer had abit of knowledge about dubstep he wouldnt be able to allow that statement to come out in the article.

Also timbaland is more known and has more power in the music world than any dubstep producer u want to name....dont u think that has an influence in whats going on?...for example newcomers to dubstep thinking rusko ''pioneered'' the scene is ridiculous , and new producers who think all the sound is about is gritty distortion and wobbles...all this is down to lack of knowledge...and 4 some1 in his position 2 say he created the sound...thats a blatent act of deception.
