Burning man

Post by diverse » Tue Jan 31, 2006 1:39 am

So anyone been to the burning man festival out in nevada in the states.
You should really check it out. It will be well worth the trip even if you are coming from as far away as asia. It is the place I got exposed to dubstep and heard the most amazing stuff. but you can find any type of music you could be possibly into or should be into. Lots of big djs come in a play free sets but the no names rocked me the hardest. tipper, adam freeland, freq nasty, tiesto, paul okenfold are some of the people that come out to play for free. Check out the website www.burningman.com and have a look at the pic's We are doing a huge soundsystem this year so if any of you want to come out and be a part of it let me know.

I was reading about this in Picture mag (softcore porn for non-aussies) in the bogs at work today, they pitched it as a great place to go and see semi-nude / nude chix for free, party vibes ? ... there were loads of people top to bottom body painted tho, no thanx.

Yes, there are lots of naked people. but lot's of them are easy on the eye's, but there is also amazing, crazy art, sick music and very cool people.
I am telling you this, I have traveled the world and went to as many things as I possible over the past 13 years and this is by far the best thing I have come upon. It's not for the weak but If you can hang it is worth it. What are you afraid of a few naked people?

^^^

no mate ... but like I told this kid last weekend, standing around a dusty field surronded by sweaty hippies is not my idea of a good time ...
but lot's of them are easy on the eye's
this is exactly my point, this "event" like others of its ilk would attract the wrongest kinds of people ... for the wrongest reasons. Peace Love Unity and a huge fucking mess at the end ... did somebody say woodstock ?

I think you might be on the wrong board sunshine. The words "adam freeland, freq nasty, tiesto, paul okenfold" gave you away there.

And I'd be interested where this "best dubstep you've ever heard" is coming from.

I reckon the Glade is gonna be pretty good this year. Last years festival was hilarious. 3 days of getting fucked in the sun laughing at freak Psy Trancers...music from Aphex, Squarepusher, Virus Syndicate, The Bug, Rephlex Records...and a host of others.

?!??

I was at Burning Man last year, with a box of the finest dubstep 12s, and intended to blag myself a set on a suitable system. But I didn't hear anything like it in the whole place, and never found any rig I thought might be up for it... To be honest, I thought most of the music was toss. Would have loved to catch Tipper, his shit is wicked, but it ain't dubstep.
