New to dubstep - recommendations?

Post by firehawk » Tue Jun 15, 2010 9:59 pm

hi!

im a hardcore trance musician/DJ/producer and really only like trance as an electronic piece of music but also the odd d'n'b

ive kinda got a thing for dubstep - my short term ex partner was into it quite a fairbit, and there was this track that really grew on me but cannot remember now, what it sounded like or even the name! I can't even ask for it....because she was a nutcase and aint gonna contact her :( *rollseyes*

so anyway - can someone recommend me some great/hard/serious dubstep tracks? who knows - the track I may be after may even be in your recommendations :)

how new is "dubstep"? where is it mainly popular in around the globe?

Thanks!

DubStepN00B!

Skream, Digital Mystikz, RSD, Pinch, Distance, Burial, Kromestar, Chasing Shadows.

Lots of different styles, just use a site like last.fm and bomb about seeing what you like!

Dubstep has been around in some forms since early 2000's in one form or another (people will claim its even longer....but thats just getting picky)

The sort of dubstep you are probably talking about has been around since say maybe 2007-2008 tho.
