I'm currently reading 'The art of War' by Sun Tzu. It's the earliest and still the most revered military treatise in the world.

YESSSS! Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is probably my favourite novel ever (and I've read loads cos I'm dead brainy). Haruki Murakami is a BADMAN. He should get the Nobel Prize for Literature. And the Nobel Prize for Being a Badman

Re: Pynchon - Gravity's Rainbow
I tried to read this, but found it increasingly impenetrable and confusing..the plot and sequence is all over the place, good luck!!AntiLynd wrote:

yea, there's dozens of sub-plots, and over 400 characters appearing and disappearing throught the book's 800 pages. This is the first time I've ever considered reading the German translation of a book instead of the original... we'll see... I've just started two days ago...datura wrote: I tried to read this, but found it increasingly impenetrable and confusing..the plot and sequence is all over the place, good luck!!

Re: Pynchon - Gravity's Rainbow
Yeah, I read Crying first and really enjoyed it..I enjoyed GR enough for the the first 2-300 pages, then kinda lost the thread..Maybe I'm just a thickie.selector.dub.u wrote:have you read "crying of lot 49"? . if you find " gravity's rainbow" difficult. i suggest reading "crying of lot 49".AntiLynd wrote:yea, there's dozens of sub-plots, and over 400 characters appearing and disappearing throught the book's 800 pages.
