apologies that came off humourless. it wasnt meant to be funny, but it wasnt meant to be any kind of accusation or anything. sorryShonky wrote:Er, I was joking. Been involved in setting up a few before, although there were no name dj's and we did it mostly on donations. Always handy to have a few dealers onboard if the party faithful are just chucking their coppers in the jarelgato wrote:its also all about getting good securityShonky wrote:That'd explain the fiver entrance thenekstrak wrote:trust me, dubstep is already well represented in squat/free/afterhours/warehouse parties and has been for some time. and there are bare maintenance costs for a soundsystem to run parties

To be honest if any British rappers come up 2 me and extinguish my spliff I will have to diminish their puny couplets with pure unadulterated bass! ps Do you think I could get in trouble for being called dubfarma?

aye, no owner in his right mind is gonna risk the 50 grand fine you get, you never know when one of the undercover smoke police are lurking.anyway look on the bright side, standing outside for a cigarette opens up a whole other social scene.Paulie wrote:Unfortunately yes, the penalties for club and pub license holders will mean this will as well enforced as it is in Ireland, Scotland, USA etc etc.poax wrote:apart from the fact that they are sending out "task forces" to monitor all clubs and pubs.apparantley.
btw can i come to this squat party?
as you might have guessed not much by the way of underground music events go on in rural wales, so basically ive been playing dubstep at free parties/raves/'informal' festivals for almost 2 years now. for a crowd who don't know what dubstep is everyone always gets proper stompin! its a good look i love free parties more than playing in clubs apart from soundsystem things but hey its like when you eat off a campfire, wall's sossies taste fuckin lovely dont they?? DONT THEY??? but theyr not actually lovely so you see my point. how have i digressed this much
*considers deleting and starting again but decides against it for comedy's sake
so yeah free parties + dubstep = luvverly
but to steppas in wales - get to blue rock festival near crymych this summer, last year was completely live and MASSSHHHHHED UP, getting really big now too, will be quite a major event for wales at least in a couple of years. me and a few mates have almost managed to blag our way to having our own tent there this year so i'll be smashing out the bass pressure and dub vibes most of the weekend
keep your eyes peeled, ill post some info on it in Events section when it comes along

Me: So how you doing?
K-head: Mwurmn...ooff..maspen...bwah (stares with rolling eyes at wall)...mahwoof..baaah
Me: That's nice dear
Thankfully most of the acid trance is too far away to bother with. Still at least we don't have crackheads on the rob, so it could be worse
Can't beat a bit of 303 through boss bass overdrive though.
Ahhhh, I miss this sound. Can do without the crackheads, though.

Clubs are absolute shite in Vancouver and generally most everywhere in Canada Ive found (one or two in Montreal or TO). Dubstep in Vancouver is pretty much strictly a warehouse and studio situatiion with the very occasional gig at the one decent club in town. Nice thing about Vancity "afterhours" is the crowd is 99% amazing due to it being all word of mouth. Plus Dubstep just feels better in a weird dark dungeon with tags everywhere, one red light and tons of people going berserk.
