They might as well put David Cameron up front. A truly cringeworthy performance. No passion whatsoever.

This. Algeria have actually had some good chances aswell, they just need to look around before they go booting the ball and trying for goal.

Have some of the Algerian players got kryptonite in their socks? they are glowing.

Why the fuck did he take Lennon off for Wright Phillips?!? Lennon was the only one who seems to have any drive or ambition to win.

Glen Johnson, Rooney and Terry are terrible. Rooney looks like he's never touched a football in his life. Fumbling, stumbling and losing it constantly.

Thank fuck he's brought Defoe on. He might do something.

That was appalling. One of the worst games I've ever seen. I swear Glen Johnson is one of the worst players to ever grace a football pitch.

haha, the wiki entry for Johnson includes this in the first paragraph:
He is also a national embarrassment, who is consistently unable to live up to the hype on any international stage, big or small.

All the English players were equally shit. None of them can play with any kind of freedom whilst playing in a major tournament for England.

Glen johnson was okay, he was the only one really doing anything he was making some bad mistakes but so was literally everyone else on the team. Heskey was solid too even though it didnt seem like it. imo gerrard and lampard are the problem, they just arent pulling their weight as central midfielders, obviously Rooney wasnt having a good day either but he hardly got the ball given to him in a good position.

lol at how the commentators they didnt announce who the man of the match was at the end since it was blatantly some algerian player

England manager Fabio Capello:
"We played a good team, but we played too slowly. We are not in a good moment. It's probably the pressure, perhaps, I think so. The players play well during the training. I don't know why it is. I want to see the spirit of the team and I didn't see it this evening. I said to the players it wasn't a good performance, but we are really lucky because we can play another game. I'm always confident in my team."

The best players we have are Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe. We need to get rid of Johnson, Heskey and Terry.

It should play in our favour having Carragher out of the next game though. He's too slow and clumsy.

I think the most interesting part of that match was trying to see how much David James looks like Hatman...

But yeah, i really don't think England deserve to get through the group stage. The other teams are picking up their peformances, and even if they're losing, they've been connecting the ball well and easing into a decent pace whereas england just couldn't seem to keep control of the ball at all! Just terrible.
