Infrared Glow EP is actually produced by someone else, but released under the Sleeparchive name. So probably not the most representative.

I prefer it to Chain Reaction stuff. But they aren't really all that comparable, Sleeparchive is pushing a far more limited  aesthetic to them. They have what, 30+ releases? That much Sleeparchive would be far too much, as he's producing a very specific sound. That's why my 'I like the bleeps' is slightly less flippant than usual. That bleep sound is pretty much just Sleeparchive (Though he ripped it off ø, but that's about it).
That new Substance & Vainquer stuff is pretty great though.

I love chain reaction but it's totally different music. yeh i can see what you mean, especially having just listened to clips of those earlier 12s.  chain reaction is much more textural, ambient and dubbed out, i hadnt at all clocked how hard Sleeparchive is.  also had in my head that his sound was much less crisp, more layered etc.  strange.  feeling a couple of these though fo sho

I think tribute act is a little harsh. It's true that he is entirely copying the early Sahko sound, but I never said he was original. If there were hundreds of Sahko 'tribute acts' out there you could claim he is "hilariously overrated", but he's pretty much the only person making tunes in that minimalist bleep aesthetic at the moment (ø included). Feel free to correct me if there are others, I don't know of any.

The Sleeparchive hype is a little excessive I suppose. You could maybe attribute it to the fact that the ø stuff was groundbreaking, but never really copied at the time. So many people discovered it years later (I think Hawtin's DE9:Transitions turned most people onto it, leading to the recent represses / Boomkat feature etc) and were disapointed that there had been nothing like it for almost a decade. Then Sleeparchive turns up and everyone gets excited because they thought they'd missed it. That's kind of how I felt when I first heard his stuff anyway.
Interestingly (maybe), dubstep had a similar effect on me, as it reminded me alot of the brief Bleep n Bass thing around 91. Though obviously the bleep n Bass -> Dubstep link is a little less of a direct link than ø -> Sleeparchive.
Also, I guess some people don't know the Sahko stuff at all, in which case Sleeparchive is producing a unique sound entirely worthy of the hype.
Anyway, moving on. That CH-Signal Laboratories is great. Sounds like Spastik played underwater or something. I know nothing about it to be honest, I just heard it on Juno while browsing new releases a while back and bought it straight away. Do you know anything about them?

Oh I see. That would explain why Resolved mentioned it. And also why I like the same kind of things about it as I do Sleeparchive. Interesting that he put it out under another alias, the Sleeparchive name reserved only for the bleep stuff?
