Masterpieces, from unsigned artists?

Post by legend4ry » Thu Jul 01, 2010 8:13 pm

This is a thread to celebrate artists (other than yourself) who've created absolutely breathtaking tracks, yet..They haven't "blown up"

My pick...

Dubfiend.

Soundcloud

Even though we're bumchums and this is a remix of one of my tracks, it totally threw my track out of the window and made it into what it SHOULD of been, its truely, amazing craftmanship. Each piece of sound design is spot on. I love the way the track progresses, when you think it won't and little supprises what come up through the track its truely perfect "put on your headphones, close your eyes and listen" music.
Its the only dubstep track whats ever gave me chills!

Even though its released on my label, I would really hope someone would re-release it as it deserves another spell!

Also..

Soundcloud

Probably the best pad sound ive heard in my life (apart from Goldie - Timeless of course)

The same can be said about this track, as above, part from it being a remix and released haha.

I'm tempted to shamelessly post one of my own tracks, but for once I think I'll be genuine and just sit back and wait for the gold to roll into this thread :) - Wicked posts so far from people. I'd post some but I can't honestly think of too many, it's kinda sad in a way, I wish I did listen to more unsigned artists.

Hurling dervish - Chaosis. The bass, the trippy beat, the swirling melodies plus that sick video.

I'm still rinsing that track, then again i think the sun shines out of his behind.

There are quite artists from this board I could mention...

..but perhaps one of my favorite tracks I have ever received from a DSF'er is Grooki's "Times Past".

Haunting & achingly beautiful.

How depressing. I do not like a single one of the tracks posted so far:(

Some nice production, nice floating pads but nothing stands out at all.

Really not feeling Dubstep at the moment apart from a very small area and that sucks:(
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I like loads of things. I hate to sound so negative all the time. I am struggling to find new Dubstep that I like and its really annoying me! serious.

My production is all shit too lol. I just cannot make sounds I like. Everything sounds too computerized :(

I find new tracks are either too generic or at the other end of the scale and really weird, not really danceable if that makes sense.

Maybe you're just bored of dubstep, I have been for the last couple of months, I only managed to complete 1 track cause every sound I clicked kinda worked haha.

Try producing another genre you like or see if you can produce with a mate, that always does me nicely.

The stuff I like, I really like! shame none of them seem to be making music anymore:/

I have been making Techno recently but I am not happy with the sounds I make using VSTs and my sampling is shit too lol

I nominate Lojik's track 'A world to forget', absolutely amazing chilled vibe, and best of all he released it FREE with another 3 tracks (all of which are also amazing)

Heres some audio:
