I don't have any tracks ready to post, maybe sometime this month, maybe not :u: but I'm down to listen to some new tracks and give feedback for you all.

@ reignz- Yeah dude like the track for sure. The intro buildup is good. I like all the sounds you used for thuh wobbles. For me, switching up the synth bass sounds they way you are is where it's at! I hate a dubstep tune that is just one wobble bass (ahem brutal electro) that just keeps going for every drop. Some of your sounds have that more 8-bit video game vibe which goes with the samples great, especially mixed with all the dirty sounds. Nice one homie :e:

@ENZA Right on man, you got some piano scale skillz, which is cool. I am not a Christian man at all (raised by white trash bikers lol), but I don't really care for the sample too much. 1000 -1500 years ago, yes! 5000 years ago, nope. The old Testes peeps were really just desert tribes dealing with a small tribal society, not religious hustlers looking to build the Vatican Empire. All that came later. Maybe the sample sets the vibe your are going for, which is cool, but it makes me think too much about what the dude is saying, which I don't think is thought out well, instead of just enjoying your synths. Maybe if I knew the context of the dude's lecture, idk. I would say the drums could use some work to grab the listener more, but I fall so short on my own drum programming skills that all I can say is keep up the good work and I hope I myself get good enough to post a track or two for feedback.

@ENZA Just listened to the other track in your sig. I like your synth vibes. I'm not good enough to really write music with much going on in terms of using scales or arps or what not. You are able to flow some emotion into your tunes, which is awesome. Overall, liking your vibes. That guitar (harp?) at around 2.30 is gorgeous.

@Imperial Yeah, liking the middle eastern type vibe. The drums sound quiet on my speakers, the kick seems like it wants to punch out of that tune a bit more. If I play it through my monitors I can hear the kick ok, but if I play it through my smaller computer speakers it almost disappears. I have heard that producers will test their track out on their car, home stereo, big rigs, etc. to get the levels nice and rounded, but idk, maybe they just need to be brought up or EQed, or layered a bit? Overall though, loving where you are going.

@ilv1 If that is your second track ever, fucking hell good job then. I'm on track, fuck who knows, 50 or so myself lol, and still not hooking it up how I want. So hard to finish tracks I'm proud of :u: . So yeah, for being your second track ever, it sounds like you will prolly be blowing shit up proper soon enough. I like lots more sub bass stuff, but whatev, you are kicking ass for track number 2 in your career. My second track, although I don't remember it as it's long deleted, was surely an embarrassment, and what's worse, I'm sure I made all my homies listen to it. hahaha

Ok I reviewed 5 tracks for July. If I can actually finish this new track I'm chewing through, I'll be looking for a lil feedback to help me on my way. :wink:

Nice buildup on that track. 100% not my style, but it sounds good to me. The build-up rises are good. I like the stuttering vocals. Pads sound a bit, idk, presetish or something, I think the pads could have a lot more emotion/texture to them, since your style seems to pack emotion and texture overall.

I'm confused why everyone's "finished tracks" just cut off at the end. Is that so people can't download it until it's actually released or something?

That's cool. What's funny is there are a lot of tracks on here that just cut out at the end. I figured it was on purpose cuz of release issues or some such. Defo a summertime tune, and I could see people being stoked on that. I will be checking out more tunes by you in the future for sure. My own stuff seems lack a lot of feeling, so I always tune in to tracks that people produce that bring some emotion to the table. PEACE

It's awesome... Especially for a first tune... The vocal samples are great but the wobbles sound a bit amateur-ish...
thanks so much for the feedback. the wobbles prob sound amateurish because i'm still an ultra-noob. lol

i'm always hearing things i would have liked to do better but i guess i'll keep em in mind for the next tune and just keep moving on.

@Basic A

Listening right now. Love the dark intro and sub. Listening on some nice(ish) monitors and the sub is doing its thing deep. I don't have the kind of attention span needed to make minimal stuff like this, but love to listen to it. Defo car creeping at night music. The delays on those ah. . .reverse sounds (maybe?) add some nice depth to the tune, giving it dimensional space, which is sickness.

@Sovereignty
Yeah fun track. Is that Massive?
I'm not sure how to describe this exactly, but when you cut everything but a sound or two and then punch back into the drop. . .yeah those are where its at for party tracks imo.

@MrWoof
Port Luna
Listening now. Like the noise/wind sound buildups. Like the arp synthy stuff too. I like how you seem to produce in waves or something. doh, the bass just dropped. . . yeah man it's a good track. ahh. . nice I was going to suggest changing the bass up some, but there it goes around 2.45. I like how the sub is melody driven, gives it a good, idk, groove to it I guess. Having just that synth sound at 4.12, then back into the drop is cool. I really try to bring those things out myself when I make tracks (still long way to go for me though :oops:)

Thanks for the feedback! I have worked and fooled around with sounds, wobbles and other stuff before but yeah... It's my second track... I also am having problems finishing stuff... I make a 40 second idea, I love it, three weeks later... Still a 40 second idea. :u:

@A-List - I don't really dig the trancey sounds in the intro but they sound good for that style... My opinion is that you should turn up the volume on the bass and turn down the pads a bit.

@Plasmic aka Hanlo - First song only - I don't really dig the bass drum sample... And I'm not really good with this but I'm gonna say that there's too much bass in it or not enough mids or something idk... The track is not my style at all but it sounds ok for what it needs to be (apart from what I mentioned).

@ENZA - Thaks for the feedback. I re-edited the song and now it hass BASS! Working with laptop and shitty headphones is nasty... Now for the feedback. I love the vocal sample but it kind of asks for something dirtier after it... Like a big fat wobble. And there are some slower triplets or something in there on the hi-hats that remind me of tutorials for reason on how to make dubstep. Other than that the song is pretty good... The chilled feeling is, again, not my style but it sounds good.

And now for mine... Here it is again, with re-edited bass/sub... Hope it sounds better! Thanks!

(If the bass still ain't enough, tell me so I'll work on it some more...)

@Galbm - Sounds pretty good mate but try making some more between the intro and the break... The rough part sounds good but it's too short... And try something new idk... I don't see anything special in there but I see a lot of potential...

Only listened to the first one, pretty good, summer good vibes, 2step is also very good for that.

Not really sure what genre this would fall into...but thought I would put it up anyway. I'm still learning about production and would be very keen to have any feedback please. :D
Pretty good tune, imo you could have made a smoother, less mid/toppy, used bass sound for the drop, the hook is good,
same notes as jokers remix of cruel intentions, what scale is it? if you know?

@ Galbm. Whatever that popping sound is after the drop was doing my nut. Try giving some other people some feedback if you're going to expect it yourself, or announce if you've done it on Soundcloud so you don't get flamed :4:

reignz - nice piano cords in the intro. subbass is nice, wobbles are siiiiccckkk!! nice melody to the whole track.vvgood stuff.

ENZA = lovingthe whole dark feel to it. vocal sample in the intro is wickid. intro is nice also. proper head nodder this!! te synth keeps the track moving quality tune.

Imperial - FILTHY tune!!! intro is sick with them chords. had a bit of a middle eastern feel v.orignial. nice stuff.

ilv1 - not really into drumstep but i'll comment anyway. Good production, but id beef up the sub a bit. nice synth melody. fx are a nice touch aswell. grabbed my attention for the whole track so many this is converting me to drumstep :)

wirez - loved this track grime + dubstep = magic. Bars are sick on the tune sick mc!! the beat compliented the lyrics sick this is a top track.

Here's mine called gully spoon (dont watch the name it was gully goon but it was bought to my attention joker & terror danjah already had a track of that name)

Also the lack of intro is intentional, but it is still open to criqitue as i know a lot of you love the whole build up to drop to track.

Cheers a lot geez, nuff respek! ;)

Regarding your track -
  • Nice solid sound, I think the filthy wobble sound could do with some higher frequency presence though and maybe exploit the stereo field a little bit with the high mids and up.
  • Lovely snare on that one!
  • Love the samples - the spoken one and the 'aaayyyeeee' sound, sounds pretty awesome
  • I think you've gone a little overkill with your mastering and have smashed the track a bit too hard, seems slightly distorted and is lacking depth in the dynamics
  • Could definitely do with some more variation, maybe drop that high pitched synth out for a while, it gets a bit tiresome.
