went with fc when she went to get her copy today and warned her about living different skipping. We listened through on a copy and it skipped, the guy said he wouldn't open all of them for us and luckily one of the open copies (used by customers to preview the record) didn't skip so we were able to get it changed.

I thought it was quite unreasonable of sotu to not allow us to open another copy as we were definitely going to buy the album, it wouldn't have made a difference whether we opened it there and took it back or went home, opened it and took it back, it was sheer luck that the already open copy didn't skip.

I said to the guy that its a coin toss whether a copy will skip or not and he just shrugged and said it wouldn't be his problem but the distribution companies issue.

You wouldn't expect a problem of this scale from people that obviously know what they are doing, i.e mala, transition etc but it's pretty ridiculous that you pay 18 quid for an album where one track is unlistenable.

I haven't went home to listen to mine yet but if it is skipping it will be goin back to redeye, and if the replacement skips that will be going back and so on until I get a copy that plays properly.

Fair do's people can do this and move on but it IS a pure pain in the arse.

All said and done the album is good. Quality tracks from start finish but unfortunately marred by this pressing issue.

what did the guy in S.O.T.U. look like?

there are 2-3 of them in there who are safe as fuck and really helpful but the rest of them seriously need to adjust their attitude...

i'm always surprised when record store workers are less than helpful
with the rise of online record stores and mp3's, you would think that they would be bending over backwards to please any customers, but they sometimes have that "i could give a fuck" attitude... strange

One of my copies skips, the other one I had intended to keep shrink wrapped but might have to open it just to know...

I'll probably open it if Chemical are fine to replace my other one.

my copy is fine, no skipping. no major issues really so i feel quite lucky.

looks like a lot of people got hard done by. im sure you will be entitled to a working copy tho, you paid for one so its down to the seller to make sure you get one even if it means represses need to be done.

You would notice the skips on Livin' Different fairly easily man.

They start as soon as the bass drops in, and continued until I thought fuck this, and pulled the arm off.

Think i've played every side about 20 times so far since it arrived at 12am today. I'd never heard Unexpected either, can't stop listening now. That & Return II Space are pure big tunes. Well pleased with this release, each tune sounds warm, deep, well mastered & none have skips. I understand the tention though, I would have gone mental if mine was unplayable/had harsh skips after waiting months for it to reach.
