Badger's only locking these threads because they're descending into mindless chaos and the only thing that will happen is people getting more and more pissed off and more and more offensive against each other, which, in itself, leads of nothing. I can't understand why this fact is so hard to grasp!?!

In the first page of these threads, there is always a glimmer of hope that they will just be discussions, however, because this "just a forum" people use it as a place to offend with impunity. So two pages in and you've got a heated discussion and by the forth page, you've just got people calling each other wankers and the original point of the thread has been lost, never to be regained. Why no lock it? The thread now serves no constructive purpose.

The problem starts when the same people re-open new threads to continue the "debate" but it just starts where it left off on the previous thread and people immediately start calling each other wankers again........ locked again. So by now, people with a modicum of intelligence would think "perhaps this is just pissing people off and I should just leave it. If I start another thread on exactly the same topic, it will garner the same reaction time and time again, so whats the point. It'll just get locked again". But no, it comes round again. With exactly the same result, only this time, the OP KNEW it was gonna happen. This fucks people off more and more as the trolling cycle is repeated over and over again and then we get these threads saying "I can''t believe everyone is 'attacking' me". Which is a load of horse shit.

The only reason you think there are these double standards about who gets away with what is because people like Badger are too busy dealing with the fucking mess in the original threads to have time to deal with a picture of a prolapsed arsehole.

who is to decide what's constructive or not and by what criteria?
are these criteria applied to everyone equally?
are all threads where people call each other wankers by 4th page closed?
instead of pissing people by closing multiple threads, wouldn't be smarter to let just one fire up and chill down by itself, as all threads do eventually?

Just slagging people off clearly isn't constructive so shutting a thread down to avoid people just continually irritating each other is an obvious step.

If these threads were limited to just the one and, after it got locked, people left it at that, this wouldn't be an issue. The fact that the same subject gets continually brought up seemingly just to cause a fight, is waste and just clogs the forum up. Another reason why a mod would step in.

what clogs the forum more, one thread on the same subject going on and on, or more threads, locks, interventions, bans, and fracturing a debate people seem to need since they keep opening the threads? many threads were locked here and reopened by other people than the op, so it wasn't about causing stir, but need to express thoughts, find answers and feedback

fucking admit it's not the right thing to do, but the badger thing to do and allow some people to dislike the badger way and wish for better, as he, in our view, uses his powers not for the good of the community, but to enforce his opinions
and if we can't have one to care about his community because this one knows the owner, then let it be stated so and that's it, no need for the whole rules/trolling/insults hypocrite excuses and no need to call his activity "moderation"

the amount of psychological pathology going on in these last 3 pages is astonishing. some of you TRULY need to turn off the computer, and go outside and breathe in fresh air, and get a firm grip on what you come to this site for. contrary to what some of you seem to think, the world doesn't revolve around the viewpoint of a group of self proclaimed internet badmen hiding behind screens, and aliases. this site still is a community of people, in the 10's of thousands that come for the music, and the two dozen or so that come here to continually flame the fires, insult each other, troll discussions, and generally act like a bunch of kids in the playground, doesn't change the reason why the site was built for one fucking second. its to the point lately, that some of you want to be banned to make yourselves feel bigger and better. think about how ridiculous that is in and of itself. its sort of the grand prize for idiocy.

all this "we're going to overthrow the status quo" hilarity is amazing. no really....go on and waste more of your brain power and energy, instead of doing something creative, or something to better yourselves. life is fucking short, and coming to DSF just to raise your own blood pressure, and the stress level of others is like one big revolving door of stupidity.
