@dan-wimperis
i loved that tune man , dirty sounds real good . . but i felt there was a tiny bit to much reverb on ya bass , thats all ..
oh and i didnt really like that guitar plucking thing to be honest but apart from that big up
your 2nd tune was all good . . not me but it was al good
@NRHc
lazy sunday vibe , nice , was good listening to watching the rain out me window ... felt there was not enough compression + a little to much reverb
would love to see how this turns out tho..
oh and any reason why u dont start your tune at 1st bar 1st beat and u start it a few seconds in... not that it matters
@josh
some bits repetitive , enjoyed the vibe , good production quality couldnt really see anything wrong wit it mate
feedback for feeback
(silly title, mainly cause id just been on a mad walk on acid wit friends and i havent changed it lol )

@Rekstep
Thanks for the feedback man!,I had a feeling the bass wasn't compressed enough,as for the reverb I had a little feeling there was a bit too much too,but on which sound exactly do you find that,:The Reggaeish stab,the synth in the first part or the flutish lead when the bass drops?As for the random bar at the beginning,I really don't understand because in my DAW the song starts right at the beginning,but everytime I bounce there's this little extra bar who comes from nowhere..Never made this in any track before
As for your song,
Love it!! Really dark intro and nice drop,only things I've gotta say is,I'd make the Kick a little bit punchier and maybe a little bit more weight on the bass when it drops but I'd like to see the finished results! added you on soundcloud

@NRHC, I like the tune in your sig. It was to be Mala-esque. I feel like if you added some more dominant hats, turned up the snare, and turned down the guitar, it would be really good.
Tell me what you think of this.

@ JoshH,leave sum feedback for others and im sure they'll take time out of there day to do the same for you!
@ Rekstep- enjoyed it man,really liked the intro to drop,give me proper moody dubstep vibes,would really like to hear the completed version,cant really fault it if im honest,just complete this badboy.
@NRHc-less reverb on that snare,and try switch things up a bit,a touch more atmospherics to kind of give it that edge,like the vibes goin on tho man,could be a really epic tune,definetly my type of dubstep,spend more time on it could be a really good tune,kudos
@ Skriptah- too little going on in this,sounds really bare for me man,could be down to taste more tho..id just layer it add more sfx,switch the wobbles and sounds etc to keep the listener interested,hope that helps
Heres my bit,quiet deep and something i done on the sly as im takin the month off production before i lock myself away for 2 months on some serious production.Comments appreciated,shall return the favour in due course.Juan

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@Skriptah,
Like Rejuan said,some nice sounds going on there,but I would add a lil bit more variety,SFX and percussion work,maybe turn down the sub a little bit too and you've got something there!
@Rejuan
Wow Epic song!!Massive percussion work there,nice intro with a lot of atmosphere then nice clean subbass coming!Only thing that I don't like and it's minor(maybe only me because they seemed to fit with the track)are the vocals..
Other than that great work
And thanks for all the good feedback

@Skriptah : I agree with what the other guy said. It needs more variation that would keep the listener interested! ..also I don't like the notes you have chosen for the bass, they sound a bit random.

This is just rough. I need to sort volumes out alot. Will switch up the bass, just repeated it to make a longer clip

I really like the intro,but not much into the drop..I don't feel like it fits with the intro..like two separate songs you know what I mean?creeptown wrote:Soundcloud

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@creeptown. I'm same as above. Tune sounds like 2 different songs. The first bit is real cool man. I reckon the drop with a nice roller would sound epic.
@redjuan. Tune sounds nice from the start man, then shit starts clanging away and sounds real muddy. Tone the volume down on the clangy bits. I don't think the bass sits well with that track, Needs more of a sub roller, little wobble on it would work I reckon. Just sort the drums out, some of the percussion is way too over powering
@dan-wimperis. Re: The chill tune. Loving the vibes man. Good vibes in that tune for a nice summers day, night in chilling. Just real nice. Sub does sound awesome. Drums are good. Little bit more playing around, shit be ace I reckon

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@Colourless: 2 of your tracks didn't load so I only got to hear Vocal-less and Snare. Vocal-less was to sporadic for me. The leads really didn't make much sense. Snare was sort of the same. The percussions were decent, could use some variation on those bongo type drums. The sounds just didn't work for me at all and for the most part didn't really sound like they belonged together.
@ObsidiaMusic: Liked the Supernova Preview. Interested to hear where you take it from there.
@Dub2play: Interesting idea for a remix. definitely cool.
@Mars: It had good sound but just way too much pitch bending IMO. It's hard to get into any kind of groove while listening to it when every other note is a long pitch bend.
@Airlabam: There's just entirely way to much distortion. It doesn't even sound like music, just a bunch of noise layered on top of each other. If that was your intent then you've accomplished it. I would definitely work on fixing the levels and clearing out a bit of that distortion so you can at least hear what is going on.
@Hakka: Not something you really expect with DnB. It's definitely got that summer type sound. That second lead you bring in around 2:10 really doesn't sound right at all to me. Sound way off key to the main sound. I think it could definitely use some more bass of some sort to at least give a bit more of that DnB feel. Definitely liked the rest of it though.
So here's something I started working on a few days ago. It's got that older dubstep style. Been listening to a lot of that stuff lately and it inspired this track.

@JBE. Nice dude. See comment on the tune
. Nice little bass effects etc added in there. Nice n mellow, but has a deep vibe aswell. But yea that clang noise got to me. Maybe vary that up a bit and not have it going non-stop?
@JoshH. Nice vibe dude. Real summery & Relaxing. Sample does get over used though. Production sounds good!

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for JULY, 2010
@Bradicle: Thanks man. Yea, I had actually completely muted out that metal clank sound but I must have unmuted it on accident when I rendered this copy and I didn't listen to it before uploading.
BTW, tune in your sig is pretty good stuff. It could definitely use some varying of the bass sound more though. That's kind of the annoying thing about that particular style is it almost requires like 30 different bass sounds.
@Mindcontrol: Glad you liked it. That's definitely where I was going with it. Listening to a lot of that "old school" dubstep where it still was so full of the garage/jungle influence.
The track that you posted Definitely needs some work. I know it's not done or anything but The bass just seems like a bit much for what you have going on. Also, you called it drumstep but it really lacks that energy. Drumstep is basically DnB with half time drums but even at the faster speed half-time is still pretty fast which is what gives it a lot of that big energy like DnB.
@Jaspervc: Big stuff dude. Could use a bit of variation on the bass though. I think somewhere right in the middle you should throw in a break of some sort. About 8-16 bars of a nice big break with a new bassline pattern. Maybe switch it up to a 4/4 beat during the break just to kind of give it a bit of energy going into the next part.
Just to throw out a quick update. Don't mean to double post so if it's an issue I'll remove this. After Bradicle mentioned the "clang" I went back in to remove and ended up coming up with a couple ideas. I added a little string patch every 8 bars in a few places. I also removed the higher pitched wobble/horn type sound I used on the second part and replaced with a knock type bass patch. I think it flows better with the track this way.
Once I have this thing finished it will be up on SC for free download. If you want a copy just pm me and I'll put you on my list and send you a message when I make it available to download. I don't know exactly when that will be as I could end up sitting on this thing for a couple more days or a couple more weeks depending on how much creativity I can muster up.
