Off topic and entirely out of interest. Are Tempa 001's quite rare/sought after? Deep release.

yea Tempa 001-006 in particular are hard to get hold of. One will pop up occasionally on ebay but rarely go cheap.

i think you're talking about Horror Show! jokes. i love Yeah tho, sick one. in a club its disgusting

re Tempa 01 - quite rare yeh, dunno how desirable it is for many dubsteppers tho cos its so garagey... but if anyones selling i will be buying (at a reasonable price)

I dont think other labels will get as expensive as the first 2 dmz for the whole lost plates reason. At least with the plates around theres always a fingers crossed for the re-release :P

Mind you i never seem to see anything other than DMZ going for that kind of money on e-bay. Ghost releases and the Artwork 12 excepted

i would be surprised if the demand was as high. tempa04 is dubby, spacious, subby, JA-drenched post-garage (very appealing to many newer dubstep types), tempa01 is very much traditional garage, albeit very good. but not many old-school garage heads feel horsepower too much from what ive seen, so its kind of caught in between

so while supply is similar i wouldnt imagine demand being so high. i may be wrong of course

yea I'd say the Dub War 12" is the best of the early Tempa stuff (along with Gorgon Sound which was on the first Horsepower LP). Hence the price.

So what else do we think will get silly money in years to come?

Wouldn't be surprised if the early Vex'd stuff like lion goes for decent money. And the Skream 12 on Ital too. I bet even the Deep Medi stuff won't be cheap soon

yea possibly, the metalwork for those was lost, same as DMZ 001 & 002 - so they won't be repressed either, although they are all on the De-generate CD.

I'd really like to see some dubstep classics repressed - managed to get most El-b surprisingly cheap (so long as nobody mentions it on the main board - curses).

Pretty sure that Tempa could do some re-releases of the early material if they've still got the masters
Hmm....

Well there is certainly a market for the early releases although Tempa have a lot of new stuff to come too.

With the rapid evolution of the dubstep sound it would be a shame if some of those early tunes became lost to be honest

but they repressed many of the classics from the middle of their catalogue, and i reckon theres more of a market for new dubstep than for the really early garagey ones. Maybe not, but having seen Shelflife releases hanging around on dubplate.net for what seemed a ridiculous amount of time I reckon maybe the impression of the demand is greater than it in fact. shame, cos im still missing a couple i’d like :/ but equally it means that my collection doesn’t become just the same as anyone else’s who’s got a passing interest and a couple of quid.

but yeh loads of el-b and ghost go for peanuts on ebay regularly

my money is on Lion as the most valuable non-dmz dubstep release. b-side is just as good, it’s an incredible 12. or maybe the Dancehall EP, ive never even seen that for sale. in a few years I also think skull disco will be very collectable

funny, I'd rate Pop Pop over Lion - it certainly sold out much much quicker. I'd forgotten about Ghost on the flip though, cool little tune and there were 2 or 3 versions of it around at that time.

Skull Disco 1 & 2 are proving pretty much impossible for me to find. If anyone wants to help me out...........

I reckon the Hyperdub stuff owuld be going for big bucks too if they didnt repress them

yeh i dunno i see Lion as more anthemic, and more crossover also. dont know which i like better as tunes. i think maybe in both cases i actually prefer the b-sides. second drop on lion is :o tho
