i'm into my deeper more techy stuff myself but i do love watching rusko live, it's just such a good laugh. jump up is great for a dance, wall to wall dripping clunge aswell.
it's the aggressive stuff i can't stand (borgore, trolley snatcha, cookie monsta etc). just don't get it.
especially that fucking chainsaw song. it still bemuses me how people ever listened to that and went 'yeah thats music'

you could apply that to most metal, its not just a beat or a melody that makes music, the emotion that the song brings is the most important in that sence, and im not all for chainsaw calligraphy before anyone starts hatin, i think that as a song is pretty rubbish, but you gotta respect it as a form of music even if you dont like it.

yeah but metal takes some thought. chainsaw callig is literally one awful sound dragged out over a drum beat that seems to only appeal to people with something to prove (that's what ive seen in local clubs anyway).

Metal goes beyond being aggressive. I can understand if you listen to it and think this is horrible but then your not listening hard enough.

ok so does most dirty dubstep, and the way you described metal to me was, when your really pissed off, listen to this and be like YEAAAH THATS THE SHIT

only thing is is that its way easier to produce dirty dubstep then it is metal, and in some cases i wouldnt even agree with that. i know theres more to metal then just agression, but i was saying you could apply to alot of metal the phrase :"it still bemuses me how people ever listened to that and went 'yeah thats music'" if you dont usually listen to it. and obviously did doesnt listen to much dirty dubstep and thats what hes done... im not dissing metal ffs

But you've missed a vital point. Chainsaw Calligraphy isn't music. Its just a kick hihathihathihat snare hihathihathihat WAAAAAAAAAAAWAAAAAAAAWAWAWAWAWAWAAAAA.

Metal sounds like shit because its always soaked in distortion, under produced or really fast. But it takes a lot of skill to make metal and to capture the feeling and emotion that a lot of it captures.

okay forget about chainsaw calligraphy because it actually is shit, but what about other filthy tunes that capture the aggresion and emotion

and if you say they dont because its just electronically produced drum patterns and synths, then that could be said for any genre of electronic music.
you might not feel the tunes but some of em do, and yes blah blah blah metal is better idc just appreciate filthy dubstep is a form of music thats all i want, i dont even like it that much anymore i just get so pissed off when people on here (well elswhere but mostly on here) act like they are better then others cause they dont listen to filth

obv some dirty dubstep takes thought but most is just people trying to be as obnoxious as possible and get youtube comments such as 'omg i want fuck a nun in the eye etc etc' on youtube

disagree. most bedroom producers are. but thats just because filthy dubstep has become way more commercialised than deeper shit, so there are far more people who want to produce it. amongst the obnoxious kids there are people who actually want to make a beat that makes you clench up inside instead of get youtube views.

They're only three producers that make the jump up kind of style that I actually enjoy and appreciate. Rusko, Distance & Vex'd. But they have taken what they do and added to it. Rusko is just straight up fun. Distance and Vex'd add so much more that filthy producers don't. The songs are actually dark, you can hear the dread and emotion in them. The synth in the background that builds up claustrophobia.

Filthy, I can't hear any of this. All I can hear is kick snare sample wawawawawaawaaawa. The wobbles are what makes the music.

this

gwa seems to have enjoyed finding a quote from me from when rusko first starting blowing up with his jump up stuff and using it as his sig, but i stand by that comment. whether i like it or not at least he's enjoying himself and putting some energy into the music

anyway.. WRONG FORUM :P
