List your hardware

Post by GV1 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 9:00 pm

This is for the hardware freaks. What hardware do you own in your setup? I'll go with mine and look forward to hearing others ...

- MPC 1000 (first bit of hardware I purchased)
- MPC 2500 SE (The white one)
- Korg Radias
- MicroKorg
- NI Maschine (although not strictly hardware, thought I'd list it)
- Electribe EMX
- KaosPad3
- Access Virus TI2

Planning to add some more to the hardware list but the girlfriend thinks it's become a bit of an expensive hobby now.

Got this little side-desk thing at the dollar store for $12.

Ha ha. I didn't like the 1000 pads so got a 2500. I decided to keep the 1000 instead of selling it, no idea why but it comes in handy sometimes. The Maschine I purchased because I was impressed with it at NAMM.

I grew up on the MPC though. My pal had one when I was like 14 that's how I got into music so I tend to swing towards pads a lot.

I have mostly a software setup right now, and looking for some powerhouse hardware bits to round out the sound design, I def need a better interface and my monitors are usable, but I'd like to upgrade. All things being perfect I'd like to add an Andromeda and a Virus TI 2 to my current setup:

Akai APC40
Yamaha MX12/4
Korg PadKontrol
Alesis Fusion 6HD
M-Audio Keystation 25 (sucks, but it will hold over until I can afford a Novation SL MKII)
Korg NanoKontrol
Mbox 2
M-Audio Studiophile AV40

Been looking at the analog solutions Oberkorn, but the Future Retro Orb Sequencer is a concise/tidy bit of kit and would compliment the FR XS nicely!

E-Mu SP-1200
Akai MPC-2000
Elektron MonoMachine
Roland MC-303

Mackie 1202 Mixer
Akai APC-40
Novation ReMote 37

The toughest part for me is I can't leave a lot of my hardware set up, so I have to pull stuff out, set it up, etc before I can see if it works.
